# 1 Where does the waste water go on the boat??
shower water, sink water, etc....same as the toilet waste pump out area????
note:

I know on our 2002 310 there is an access opening if needed outside the head on on the cabin floor that lifts up and looks like a pump in side...What is that for???

#2 When connected to shore water,
Will the water heater heat that shore water??
or is the water heater just for the tank fresh water??

note:

if taking a shower with the shore water connected, could that water be heated with the water heater?? So far we have used the water heater only when were using on board tank water....

#3 When connected to shore water, do you leave the
shore water valve on all the time while your aboard, in other words keep the water pressure on 1/4 way?, 1/2 way?, full??

Still learning and loving it

Everything that is not in your vacuflush goes overboard, including you shower sump...

The pump you found, and congratulations on looking and finding it, it's your shower sump pump. Make sure everything around it is tidy at all times.

The water heater handles your shore water. Shore water always trumps fresh water holding tank water.

The reason your water is heated, even if you haven't used your water heater, is that your engine(s) actually heat your water for you, for free!!! The water passes through, somehow (I don't have the technical reason for you), and it's heated - so, after shutting down your engine, you will have an ample supply of heated water, until your reserve in the tank runs out.

Leave the shore water on at 100% when you have it on...but, please totally disconnect it from your boat, whenever you are not aboard...if you want to avert as much risk as possible. Should there be an issue while you are gone, and fresh water is pumping into your hull, you could come back and see just the top of your canvas, as your beautiful boat is 6 ft under.

Thanks Rod.....We thought so but had to be sure.....

If in doubt turn on the water for each sink, shower, etc, one at a time and stand on the dock to see which hole water comes out of. It's always good to know what everything is for and how it works.

EVERYTHING AROUND IT ? TIDY ?
OPEN IT ONCE IN A WHILE AND WIPE IT OUT CLEAN?ESPECIALLY AROUND THE PUMP?.

OK....

I WOULD THINK ITS FRESHER

BUT IM WANTING SHORE WATER WHEN THE ENGINES ARE NOT RUNNING, WHEN IM AT SHORE...IF THE ENGINES WERE RUNNING I'D BE AT SEA..AND USING THE TANK WATER, PUMP, AND WATER HEATER .....

AND IF THE ENGINES WARM THE WATER AS YOU SAY, WHERE DO I GET SHORE WATER THATS NOT HEATED??

YES .THAT I KNOW WHAT TO DO.....

THANK YOU.......:smt001

Bill, if you open the cover to the sump pump for the shower drain you will notice a screen to catch hair and whatnot. Remove this and clean it up and also clean the entire box the pump sits in as it gets funky. Reinstall the screen, close the lid and she's fresh as a daisy!

Funny you should mention that, when we had our A/C/HEATER pump primed, the mechanic showed us were the water pumps out...Starboard bow mid way down....
we will watch where things do come out.

You mean open the floor cover out side the head, then open the pump and look for a screen???
easy to take out???

that's fine - just connect the shore water to your boat and enjoy!!!! what i meant was "after" your engines are running, once you turn them off - you will have hot water, if needed

AND IF THE ENGINES WARM THE WATER AS YOU SAY, WHERE DO I GET SHORE WATER THATS NOT HEATED??

you will get your un-heated water, by turning your "cold" faucet on only
