Howdie folks.

Been boating a long time - had a new 1994 290 SeaRay and then sold it 4 yrs later, was out of boating till last year. Bought ourselves a 1999 280 SunSport Anniversary edition. Mainly since my husband loved the engines! 600hp and it moves..

We have a boat house in Sandusky but would like to go on more overnighters and really can't do it on the 280. Thinking of getting a 2007 290 SD - it would fit in the boat house and we could stay on it.

Prices have come down - but also for our boat. Really is a stupid financial move... But since when does that come into play when buying a boat?? No idea what to do....

Any thoughts? Or other ideas?

I think you are talking about a 290 DA (DAncer) not a 290 SD(SunDeck).

The only dumb question is the one you don't ask. How can we help. Personally I like the 2X0ss type boat. Still get the sportiness but have the overnight capability. The 290DA is great boat, but you loose the sportiness and it is really pushing the limits as far as towing goes. (IMHO)

I would try to get the biggest boat possible that will fit in your boat house... You don't want to do through this next year when the 290 is too small. You can probably get a 310 or 340 2000-2002 for much less than an 07 290... Even a 04/05 320 might be about the same price... Just get the biggest boat possible, so you will not have any second thoughts...

Maybe so but I can go to the bahamas in my 290DA.
