New to marine stereo's, need advice.

Kurt, it is not just the amps but the whole system. I was able to get 3 Cadence amps for the price of one JL amp.

I got 8 Polk Audio speakers for the price of 2 JL Audio speakers.

And the 12" Wetsounds sub is equal to or BETTER than anything JL Audio has.

So I disagree, my 8 speaker, 3 amp and 1 woofer system sounds 95% of (or better) than a 2 speaker, 1 amp, 1 woofer JL Audio system (or even 4 JL speakers).

I hadn't heard of Cadence either until about 3 months ago. But like I said, that had great reviews and for the price I paid I couldn't justify shelling out the money for JL Audio or Wetsounds amps. And, I think they my system sounds great.

From my research, when it comes to boat audio, Wetsounds is the leader (JL Audio is probably second). If you can get Wetsounds for 50% off that is the direction I would go.

If you are really budget minded, look into the Cadence amps a little more.

Yeah, I think I'm going to stick with brand name after having been burned. Appreciate the feedback though. Would be nice to find a car stereo website that does testing like www.tomshardware.com does for computer hardware!

Waiting to hear the price offer for a full WetSounds kit. Will let you guys know if it's a done deal or not.

Just remember to take pics so you can show it off to us. Good Luck Curtis.

Alrighty guys, i'm going with the Wet Sounds setup. Good deal on some top notch equipment.

SYN4 Amp
Four XS-650's
One 12" XS-12 (or 10" XS-10FA depending on their recommendation)

If I didn't get a good enough price on that stuff I was going to go with the Polk db651's, Alpine/JBL amp, and Polk mm1040 or mm1240 sub.

Did you ever complete the install? I was thinking of doing the same wetsounds setup for my 210 Select and was wondering how yours turned out.
