She is beautiful. Best of luck with her. I hope we will be seeing you at the CSR rendevous this summer!

Thanks and I don't mind at all. What about some pictures of your boat?

Pete

Thanks Pete. As far as I'm concerned anything that gets you out on the water is a boat!
Hey man I loved my 260 DA and probably never would have sold it except I got married and had three kids. My 8' beam just couldn't accomodate us comfortably overnight anymore. Of course my 260 was not nearly as nice as your 260!! You will love that boat and the affordability of operating it as well as the flexibility of it's use. Great for a day run or an extended trip on the water with overnighting. Enjoy her!!

Don't forget to, being at marina bay is a destination onto itself......

Wetpaint: You are familar with the Upper Pond? The Narrows? PLato Island? Part of the attraction was the places to hang out around the Pond if the weather isn't so good.

I boat from Pt Judith Marina. I live 3 hr drive away by car but love the accessibility when I get there. Also can't say enough good about PJM. Clean, well maintained, good service, etc. Block Is., Cuttyhunk, Newport, Montauk, Three Mile Hrb., Mystic, Milford, Buzzards Bay, Falmouth, Hyannis, are all within a few hrs by water, and Provincetown a bit farther. Nice area to boat but waters just outside of the Harbor of Refuge can get a bit sloppy until you are used to it.

Rhode Island is a great home port.....I have thought about keeping boat in Rhode Island so I can experience the southern new england cruising grounds more

Pete,

Welcome... I have a friend name Pete who lives in RI... I wonder if your are he???? You live in a great spot for boating... Block Island is an our favorite place... I only wish it was closer...

I fueled up at your marina and you are right, they are friendly and the place is well run. We are at Marina Bay at the very Northern end of the pond. We live about 50 minutes away. The main attraction of keeping the boat there was the very short trip to Block Island, as well as being a good jumping off point for so many other destinations that you mention. Plus, I love clam cakes and we are only a few minutes from some of the best I have eaten :)
And yes, the water just outside the Harbor of Refuge can get nasty at times. I found once you put some distance between you and the Harbor things seem to smooth out pretty quickly.

Nice boat Pete. I think I looked at that same boat. I am next door at PJYC. JUst hooked into a 270 up in Boston last fall and only used it like six weeks. See you on the pond. We probably have met before. I am friendly with Jay and Donna at MArinaBay

I've been back in the water for 2 weeks. I'm there almost every day. You are RIGHT next door! Give me a yell and we'll swap tales. I'd like to see your boat.

Pete

I came up there one time over three years ago. It was one of the most boat friendly places I'd ever been. My best friend and his wife own a company there, Island Chimney Sweep. If you get the time look him up, Walt and April Costa. April was raised just off the Chesapeake Bay in a place called Cobbs Creek. Makes me wish I could come up by boat.
