Well after being off the the water for several years, the wife and I are now ready to get back out on the water. My 1st boat was an '88 Bayliner 19' CC which did its job on getting me out on the water, learning the rules of the road and what not and moved up to an older '85 Sea Ray 23' Cuddy Cabin. Loved that boat a lot and really hated selling it, but priorities sort of dictate stuff.

Now that we are getting back into it, we are looking to buy a very nice 2003 Sundancer 240DA. Still keeping with the closed bow, but moving up to a smaller cruiser with a few of the creature comforts. The survey and sea trial are tomorrow, so I will get a better idea of where the boat stands, but hopefully, all goes well and I have a, new to me, Sundancer with some time before the boating season ramps up to take care of items that need to be taken care of as well as to familiarize myself with the boat better. I have always been one of those that will dive in and want to know as much as I can. I have already read the entire 100 pages of the "Official 240" board that looks to have been inactive for the last two years or so. Lots of good information in that forum!

Anyway, hoping that everything goes well tomorrow and that I can begin the process of getting back on the water and contributing here as much as I can as well.

Welcome from Idaho!
All kinds of useful info in these pages delivered by a great bunch.

Rule #1..
You don’t exist without boat pics. If you have a HOT so, pics and get bonus points.

As much as I would love to, I'm going to wait until I own the boat before posting any pics. I'm buying from a private seller and don't want to post pics of his boat. Now, if everything goes well tomorrow and the boat closes....game on! Plus, I'll jinx myself and the boat will break in half during the sea trial :D. My hope is that by this time next week, it will all be transferred!

Don’t blame you, I am a bit superstitious myself. Good luck!

Nice! Hope all goes well, you can’t go wrong here. Lots of great folks. I miss my 240SRV BYW

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome. The sea trial and survey went very well and I am hoping that the boat closes in the next day or two. Nothing huge in the survey, but it looks like the marina that did some A/C work on the boat used a regular household pump in the bilge, and looks like it will need to be replaced. The pump would spin a little, spit some water over the side and then trip the breaker. Surveyor said that it would need to be replaced with a marine grade pump anyway.

Not huge since there is no gen on board and could only use the A/C at the dock anyway. I will also be replacing the original, 19 year old, CO detector. Still had the old CMD-3M detector and I am thinking of upgrading to the newer CMD6-MD. Other odds and ends as well, but so ready to hit the water. Once it closes, I will upload pics!
