Hey folks,
I just figured I'd introduce myself even though I've already been posting here and there.
I've been boating since I was a kid. I've always been at home on and in the water. I joined the Marine Corps and really was fortunate to be stationed in a great place for boating and diving - Southern California.
Every weekend for almost 3 years, I would rent the sail boats they have at MWR North Island - mostly 22 capris and they had a 29' catalina which was good for some overnight trips outside point loma.
The kelp beds there were great for some lobster hunting and you were always going to have great weather there 90% of the time. It was great from a boating perspective.
When I left the Corps, I moved back to Michigan and started off with an old 19' imperial open bow. It was a heap and very difficult to keep running.
So, I decided to move up in life and purchased a 2005 Meridian 381 sedan bridge. That was a quantum leap from the last boat - twin screws, generator, all the creature comforts. It was just awesome.
Because my wife and I have a 2 year old little girl who is now up and about, it was impossible for me to enjoy the ride on a boat that I couldn't constantly monitor the entry door.
So this year, I started looking for an express cruiser. My search was short when I saw the outdoor grill and transom seat on the 330 Sundancer.
We are moving down to Pompano beach this week from the Metro Detroit area and the boat will be following us down via flatbed mid-month.
I am looking most forward to the fishing and diving to be found in South Florida waters and the quick runs over to the Bahamas.
I really appreciate all of the great advice that I have found so far on the CSR forums. Thanks in advance for the help I'll ask for in the future.
I'll also try and post a youtube video here of our first trip on the 330.
Cheers,
Tim
