Took delivery of our 2010 Sea Ray 185 Sport today. The wife and 2 kids went down to Lake Wylie for our "training run" with the dealer and then anchored at the sandbar and had lunch and had a blast in the water. The trailering part...not so much fun. Not as easy as it looks, at least for us.

Thanks to everyone for their advice and input to my questions over the past couple of weeks, you guys and gals are great!

We are looking forward to getting back out there this weekend.

Attached a pic of us driving away from the dealer and to the ramp.

Congratulations:smt038 There is nothing like the smell of a New Boat:lol: Welcome to the Carolina's contingent.

Sweet boat!! You'll get used to the trailering in time. You have enough truck to handle it. Like everything else, go slow and be deliberate until you know what your doing. Double check everything until you get a routine. When I get to the dock I do the same thing over and over again. Park in the same spot, pull the rear straps, install the plug, set the fenders out, attach the bow line.........The Admiral sets the inside up the same way every time. It works.

Are you going to trailer or slip it?

Still deciding. We have a trailer, but right now doing dry storage at LWM. we like the ease of dry storage, but want to check out other area lakes, and not sure we want the added expense going forward.

We are going out Thursday to practice trailering and on Saturday just for fun.

I can certainly understand that. Unless you just love trailering you will get a ton more use of the boat in a slip of some sort. I justified the extra expense that way. Having a slip you can go out whenever you want *just get in and go* and if you keep the trailer you can trailer it to other lakes as you wish. I was convinced I was going to trailer when I got my 225 and I am glad I did not bacuase I used the heck out of it in the slip. I would have NEVER trailered it down during the week for a sunset cruise. To each their own but I can't imangine not having a slip although with my current boat, trailering would not be very practical anyway. If you get a chance stop by the dock and say hi. There are a couple of us CSR guys on the dock and several I know of in the dry stack.

welcome aboard ! ya "jason 78" has a good point--when the boat is already in the water--it's used twice as much--then enjoyed twice as much !

Welcome aboard.

I have a friend living in Harrisburg ex New Zealand.

That is a great part of the US

Enjoy and remember to keep the Admiral happy at all times.

We were out today on Lake Wylie, practicing launching and retrieving. We did much better today, but are still keeping it in dry storage for now. It is so much fun to just show up and have it splashed. We have a decision to make.

I hear you on the sunset cruises. We would love to do more but I have an hour pull back to the house and use an hour cleaning and covering up. God help you if you have trailer problems while it's dark you won't get home until dawn.
