Hi folks. Just checking in. I got the deal of the century on a 1982 270 Sundancer. I am a old hack at boat restoration but this one will only need to be freshened up and cosmetic replacements. This is my first SeaRay so all the help and comments you can shoot this way will be nice. Most of the boats we take on need a total gutting but this one looks to be pretty good and that is said with the knowledge that there will be a lot of stuff hidden under all that shag carpet. I made sure to go today to finish the deal on a day of heavy rain so I could poke around and see the leaks and there were some. Here's a photo or 2.

Welcome !

Looks like someone already tried a bit of restoration in the past.
Reminds me of ours when we first picked it up - different upholstery used everywhere.

Best of luck with the hidden stuff !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome and enjoy your new boat..
I'm doing the same with a 1981 SRV 245
You sound like you got a better deal.

Yea, $100 :smt119 and of all things the engines run. Now, I don't know all her dirty little secrets yet, but I'm sure I soon will.

It was one of those, "I was the only one who bid on it" things.

Yea, every thing they told me is true so far. The engines run. the lights work, The water runs, It's just a mater of just recondition everything and I guess it's good to go. Oh,,, there is that pesky trailer issue.

The side windows on that vintage boat generally had some leaks. There are a couple of posts on this forum that address fixing them and the posts may have some info about replacing the gaskets/seals.

Good luck, lady...But for a $100 what the heck.

Thanks I have been talking to Taylor.... Looks good so far.

Spookeay,
When are you gonna finish your web site?
