I see lots of threads getting posted about flooring so I'll add to the mix. There are some great options now for us boaters to consider besides carpet.

I installed Infinity woven pvc. I made templates from 6 mil plastic. I bound the edges with Sunbrella binding using Tenara teflon thread.

The binding does impart a little "waviness" to edges in some places, but I got it nice and flat with snaps.

Here are some pics of the finished job.

That's a nice looking job Quint 10 out of 10, I've been looking at carpet that will cleanup easily after a day of fishing or crabbing this looks perfect.
Where did you get it? I would cut my own from existing carpet as a template & have a local person bind it.

Good looking !! I have been thinking of doing my upper & lower swim steps with this type of material...

looks very nice Quint....i think the wooven vinyl style carpet is well on its way to replacing conventional carpet....i know we love ours...so easy to clean and will not fade or stain and does not absorb water....

I agree on all counts... that looks great, you did a fantastic job! I do love ours as well, and everyone that comes on our boat seems to like it a lot.

Quint that is beautiful!
Also love the boat name - from Yes?

Thanks guys for the great comments I'm really liking this stuff. Standby for more information on where I got it.

@North shore you are only the second person to figure out the name origin!! It's a song off of Yes, Fragile that I played to my wife during our wedding 25 years ago.

Product comes up to 10' wide. I have an account with the manufacturer, Infinity Fabrics. I am incorporating it into my canvas business.

I have paid for advertising on CSR and will have an ad up in the next week or so.

Quint that looks very nice. Classy, looks like it will be easy on the feet and comfy to walk on.

One question--is that upper surface slippery when wet?

I installed the exact same stuff on my bridge last year. Love the look and feel. Wanted to continue the look of NuTeak that is installed in the cockpit and elsewhere, however didn't want to give up the padding of carpet. As an added bonus, the woven material doesn't grab and hold dog hair like carpet.

GFC......haven't had it wet yet. It is being installed by many boat manufacturers and has been around since 2007.

Have not heard any "slippery" complaints. The "weave" does have a little bit of texture to it so I think it will be okay.

I don't have the same exact thing, but my "Marine Weave" carpet (which may well be the same material) is not slippery when wet. The woven aspect of it creates enough texture that you have pretty solid footing.

boats on both sides of me in storage just had it installed and it does look great. The installer gave them a website to watch a few videos of it and they ground sand fishblood and other stuff into it and it pretty much hosed right off.The foam backing dosent even get wet.

Dave it looks great! You have really taken off with your work. Congrats on 25th, hope you do something special. We are hitting 24 soon. When does the new career take off full time?
