Hello all. Just found this site and I have to say it's great. I've learned a ton and I haven't even took delivery of my 2005 260DA. I bought it 3 weeks ago and i'm itchin' to get it into the water as soon as the deep freeze thaws. I live in NYC but the boats home will be on the Hudson in Croton. I'm a first time boat owner but a long time boat enjoyer. Love Diving (certified rescue diver) and fishing and camping. I plan on using the boat for all of these activities with my Lab/Beagle mix dog and the odd girlfriend here and there. So far I've read some GREAT tips like the table storage in the engine compartment, and of coarse the fake grass pee turf for the dog. So much to soak up and so little time.

welcome....I love the 260...congrats..Dave.

Welcome Aboard  . Post some pics of your boat in the virtual marina :smt024 .

TurtleTone: Welcome! When you have a moment free, please tell us more about your new boat. Engine size? Air Conditioning? Camper Canvas Package? Other accessories? The 260 is a terrific boat -- I'm sure you'll love it!

Welcome to CSR, glad you have found us.

Thanks for the welcome.

it's a 2005 350 mag mpi bravo 3 with 100 hours on it. it has the camper canvas package, no generator and no A/C. it has a windlass, gps (it says Garmin 168C but I can't find any record of them making a color 168), spoiler, all the other goodies inside. I'm one of those guys that can't leave well enough alone and will no doubt be tweeking and moding, so i'm bound to get myself into trouble. :smt100

I'm also a video hobbiest so i'll be making lots of little videos on the boat through out the season which i'd love to share. I'm already building a camera mount for the arch that I can remotely pan and tilt from the helm, well that's the plan anyways. I have already built an articulating arm mount that fastens to the bow rail where I can raise or lower the camera to just above the water or up and out to the side, of coarse i'll be testing that with my $100 camcorder instead of the big one first.

Some of the mods I've seen that i'm very interested in are:
the extended swim platform. The underwater lights.

Welcome TurtleTone!!! Great boat and congratulations!! Keep in mind the Navesink River(NJ) fireworks for the 3rd of July. I think there will be some members there this year. It would be great to see you. The 260 is a great boat. I had a 2004! Enjoy, Brian

You mention extended swim platform as a possible modification. If you get a chance take a look at a 2005 or newer 270 Amberjack. The lower hull appears to be the same one that is used on our 260DAs and the Amberjack has an extended swim platform.

Hi All: I too just stumbled on to this site and am excited to see it and become a part of your family. Congrats to you, TurtleTone, for your recent acquisition of your Sea Ray. I am a new boat owner out of Bay Shore, Long Island and keep the boat in Lindenhurst, Long Island at the Surfside 3 Marina.N.Y. I have just traded in my 270 Sundancer and moved up to a 400 Sundancer, 1997 with twin gas engines. This is a big step for me especially since I just started my boating life in March of 2006 for the very first time and the 270 was my very first boat. I thoroughy love it but I'm afraid my wife is a bit nervous due to my lack of experience and she was not happy with the rockin' & rollin' of the single I/O , 8'-6" beam 270. She does like the room and wide beam of the 40DA and did seem a lot more comfortable on it when we sea-trialed it. I think it will prove to be an interesting boating season this year. We have a small dog, Corgi, and I plan to take him with us as often as we can. Anyway, great to meet all of you and look forward to sharing stories, tips, ideas etc with all my other new found boating friends and family. As a new boater, any insight would be greatly appreciated. Take care all and happy boating!
