Need your thoughts.

Is this what you had in mind?

I think you should at least paint the door!

Always remember about the resale value - is it appealing or will most potential
buyers run

Well, I paid $100 for this boat and I will have about $3000 in it when it's done. I absolutely understand your view, but it's old and was not in good very good shape when I got it any way so I can't lose no mater what I do short of cutting it up with a chain saw..

That photo shop version looked so good I went on and painted the galley wall. I shall do the inner door tomorrow after work. To see it clenched it for me.

LOOKS GREAT :smt038

But keep the wood trim.
All white boats are bright but they look "sterile". The wood adds character and depth.

Now I'm up to $0.04...

NO:smt009 But if there is somewhere else not in the picture! save it....as long as its in tune with the rest of the interior..

Heather,

I'm inclined towards the lighter interior if the 'wood' is faux wood. But that raises a serious question about its paint-ability. Are you sure you can paint it and have it stay stuck to the panels? If it won't, it will really look bad in a short time.

Can't she laminate over the faux wood?

Also, i think someone on this site painted over the laminate. Not sure of the long term durability though.

I wiped it down with acetone then lightly sanded it with my Fien Multimaster. Only time will tell. I did pick at a area that I believe has thoroughly dried and it looks to have bonded pretty well.

Who knows... if it doesn't work,,, Heck, Wall paper it. LOL:smt043

I was looking for that too. Maybe about a year ago but I forget who it was?

What she is painting over is basically faux wood on top of plywood, it should hold paint just like regular plywood.

Think she should scuff it down with a fine sandpaper before hand???
