Several weeks ago, I took the water hose to the bilge. I was careful not to wet the engines. However, there was alot of water vapor. After I finished cleaning the bilge, the engines fired right up. However, after several minutes, the starboard engine cut off. The breaker had popped off. I reset the breaker and tried again. but as soon as I switched the breaker to on, it popped right back off. I let the area dry for 2 weeks and tried again. Same results. Does anybody have any idea what got wet and could still be wet? Thanks for your help in advance George (1999 twin Mercruiser 454's)

It would be awesome to know what else that breaker powered up. I would guess you checked any relays or connections to the starboard engine, but what if the relay also powers a bilge pump that has shorted out, or an autopilot connection that got wet? 1999 should have weatherpack connections on the engine wiring components, but water is insidious and will get into connections where it takes a long time to dry out without help. Get a wiring diagram and a beer, and go to work :0)
