...side note, there is no way i can "zip-tie" my discharge valve closed. there is no lock out hole or option on the valve. any clues as to not create a fine able offense, without removing the valve?
1. Close the valve and remove it. A real PITA if boarded and the inspector wants to see the position of the valve by you placing the handle on it.
2. Drill a hole in the handle (or buy a new one with a hole in it) and zip tie it closed to where ever you can. Saint Max has a small eye bolt glassed in the stringer (looks factory) that lines up with the hole in the handle when the seacock is closed. A small lock or a zip tie works well.
The intent of the law is not the render the system incapable, but to have it secured until it is legal to dump overboard. Unfortunately, a lot of overzealous folks do not understand the intent.
