Need New Rubrail

The SS comes in at least 10' lengths which is why it's expensive as it has to ship truck freight. Look for a local place - their suppliers often have free shipping to them. But I'd also be checking around locally as places may have leftovers - espeically if you only need a few feet. Same for the PVC piece (not the shipping part) - look around locally to see a place has some leftover from a roll. Try your local SR dealer, too.

It might be worth your time to drive by their factory to see. I'd take a piece of what you now have on the boat to compare it to what they have.

I'll give Swimplatforms.com a call and see what they say.
As far as dealers, our area is different. We don't have great marine service's and dealers, and I don't know why.

I sure wish I could remember the name of the place in PDX I used to get the 80/20 rail from. They would be able to get you what you need and for pretty good pricing. They delt with everything extruded. They beat 80/20 by almost half in cost.

I talked to the folks at swimplatform dot com. $8k for the platform for my 300DA. Almost half of what I spent on the boat. I'll head over and see what the old shop I worked wants for a custom one made from the old Maxum boat parts we used to make. I'm sure out of the 8 or so molds, one will fit the width.

John, just a thought but if you're ready to put a platform on your boat when you come up this summer you could leave the boat here and have Angel put it on. He did mine about 4-5 years ago for $2,500 and installed it while the boat was in the slip so I didn't have to haul it.

I wish I had some pics of it because it looked like a factory installed job, color matched beautifully, gelcoat beautifully blended between the angled surfaces beautifully.

So, It's all fixed and ready for another summer of fun.
I had the guy that GFC used for his swim platform fix it.
He use to work for our local fiberglass repair shop that has an outstanding reputation.
He went out on his own a few years ago and is mobile, which was really nice.
He also has quite the following at the yacht club GFC is a member of.
He charged me $1500.00, and I bought the rubrail from the Sea Ray dealer in Seattle, they drop shipped it to my house, and it was only $175.00 for both pieces.
All in all, I'm very happy, but I'm still done with the Christmas parade.

Looks great Greg. Angel is phenominal when it comes to doing glass work.

And, BTW, when November rolls around and you're having thoughts about doing another boat parade and would like another set of eyes on board, I know of an old boater who might be interested.
