Does any one out there have a 390 gasser7.4 s I need to know what the shifter, throttle cable numbers are.The problem I am having is that when I move the throttles 1/6 of a inch I may go from 900 rpm to 1600 and its very hard to adjust them,I don't have to use the full throw ...I've checked every thing at the carb. and the console, NO SLACK at either end. I don't know if the cable in side is stretched or That some one has put the wrong cables on the boat ,it was like that when I bought the boat, and figured it was something that I would have to fix.So now the time has come, could it be something else? :smt101Thanks....Rip

My parts manual simply says this: 20 control cable and 26 contol cable. I'm guessing that's 2 20' cables and 2 26' cables.

They are Teleflex Red Jacket Supreme cables, previous post gives you length, so now just be sure you get the correct fittings and you should be able to take it from there.

It's a 1988. Yes,I can hear the difference. When it revs up with that small movement I tap it back with the tip of my fingers and some times it will go back a little or maybe more , it's never the same.If I want to get upon top I ease the throttles forward to the stops ,and then feather it back to cruise, but the movement is never the same. If I move the levers a little, it may be a small drop or a large one,I'am running by ear and then checking the RPM. As a rule I can hear the sweet spot,my main thing is the engs. being in sync.To do that I have to tap one or the other levers with the flat of my hand Thanks...Rip
