Navigating moriches bay and Tianna bay

Johnathan as I stated somewhere else I am a boatus member and they wanted to charge me to "show me the way" across Lindy cut. Sea tow captain did it for me and was shocked they wanted to charge me. They are friendly enough to at least ask.( and a tip wouldn't hurt).

Gotcha. Will try

Nerve racking decision..... if I wanted to play it safe and head south around the island is that we'll marked? At what point do you start heading south?

It is very well marked out to the inlet, cut across and keep all the green cans to your port side the entire way, you should start to head south before you come to can 15. At that point, hard right to head south, you will be headed for the inlet. There will be a well marked channel headed south, there is a 5mph wake zone as you approach inlet. If you want, send me your email and I can send you a screen shot of my plotter; apparently I cant attach an image in this thread I would favor the starboard side until you start heading East once south of the island, then favor port side just off green cans the whole way around. Good luck...

Jonathan,
The Red arrow marks the destination that Paul ran this past weekend.

Guys, I went out Moriches Inlet yesterday about a half hour after high tide with no issues. Once out of the inlet it's an easy jog a quarter mile west along the beach and then a quarter mile south south west (you can see the breakers on your starboard side) and then you're good to head east south east and then east. Pretty smooth ride out in the Ocean. I'm on Block Island, heading to Nantucket tomorrow. Good luck.

Thanks Brian thanks tod. Everything is pretty clear except for the west end ponquoge bay. Keep my fingers crossed while moving across it

No, never made it that far. We stopped just east of the Potunk bridge.

Plenty of water in the north channel.....the low point is at the green plus btween 26 / 27. I ran dead slow through and recorded 2.5' under my boat at tide. It is a very narrow sand bar 5-10' wide. On the way home I felt comfortable running at speed, and 1 hr off tide. ....now the guys drifting to fish is another story
