And I want to add that I do not want a national white voter day. Having these days that distinguish race is part of the problem. We all want equality yet we keep trying to come up with more reasons to celebrate the black race and further categorically divide usLet's have a national white voter day and see how well that goes over
It is a campaign designed to encourage black people to register to vote, and to participate in our democracy. It was started by BET and the National Urban League, and then supported by dozens of other organizations.
Not sure why you would have a problem with organizations encouraging black people to vote.
I find it interesting that the party that calls the president racist and sexist, picked their VP solely on race and sex.

Just an opinion, Identifying people by any name or title other than American only serves to divide the people. Period!
“In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person’s becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American … There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn’t an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag … We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language … and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people.”
T. Rosevelt 1907

i have a problem that someone believes black people need to be specifically singled out for encouragement, to vote or do anything else for that matter.
I wonder if BET is going to have "national days" to accomplish any of these--
-National be a good black father
-National stop shooting people from a different gang
-National stop tearing down statues
I could go on but you get my drift.
Hmmm...same thing 99% of police officers are sayingWhy are all black people held responsible for the actions of a few?
I really have a problem with someone doesn't understand or does not know the history of denying African Americans the right to vote. It appears that you do not understand it was not that long ago in many places in this country where black people live there were many obstacles put in place to limit African-American rights, and one of the major ways was to enact barriers to prevent them from voting. A series of laws were passed state by state in the south, ranging from literacy tests to poll taxes. As result many blacks today do not trust that the current political system is open to them, and as such they see no reason to vote. The efforts that you are so vocal in your non-support, are efforts to encourage black citizens to participate in our democracy and let their voices heard in a positive way.
The pendulum has swung the other way in recent decades. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Black_Panther_Party_voter_intimidation_caseI really have a problem with someone doesn't understand or does not know the history of denying African Americans the right to vote.
