My upgrade from an '05 280DA to '09 44DB

I don't post very often - but Ive been hanging around this forum for a few years since I bought my 280DA. Last month I took the plunge and upgraded to a (previously untitled) '09 44DB and wanted to share the exciting news!
Share more pictures when you get them. Boat looks very sharp!

Beautiful Boat!!! Congrats!

Looks like you're at Pier 121. Is that where you're keeping it? That's where my 400 EC is being sold at the moment. I think I walked around your new boat when it was on the sales dock. Sorry for all the drool.

Enjoy!

After sending SR customer support my hull number asking about this, they replied confirming the boat does have a transducer installed that should be feeding depth to both the E120 and the Vessel View unit, and that the dealer should repair this under warranty if it isn't functioning. I forwarded that along with a nicely worded email to the MM service manager telling him "fix it".

Mine does show up on the Vessel View, but I haven't seen it on the E120. I'll have to look closer.

CONGRATS! Our deam boat...

Kevin

SMC - My upgrade wasn't as new as yours but the move from a 270 to 400 still has me reeling. I agree with the easier to dock/move around etc. Congrats on the boat and good luck with her.

Yeah, I had my 280DA at Pier 121 already. I just moved over to the 1000 Dock (needed a bigger slip) for the new boat. My boss (also a close friend) just bought a new 500DA as well so we've got 3 slips together in a row (center slip will hold a small ski boat or something eventually). Its pretty impressive to see the 500DA next to the 44DB. I should take some pics and post those for you guys.

The 44DB will stay there for now - but with a little luck it wont be land locked for too much longer. I'm originally from the gulf coast (Louisiana) area and want to move back there in the next 3 - 5 years. The thought is, I can bring it with me and put her in some open water where she belongs one day.

Cograts and good luck with the new purchase. It's a beautiful vessel!!

I'm not sure about the dock slip though.......better be careful on those "sick days"

2009 dark hull! I am jealous! Just kidding - I am very excited for you on your beautiful new boat. Right now, I couldn't get jealous about a 200' turbine yacht.

Yes, you do have depth on both the systems view and the E-120's, when it works. Go to the main menu then the "Data Bar" or something like that. Click on "Add windows" or "Add Data Groups" or something like that. Each time you want a new window, scroll down to it and then hit the right arrow on your key pad. Select "Depth" or something like that. Each time you add a data window, the oldest one (of 4) goes away - at least the way mine is set up. You may use the 2nd screen for a different set - I haven't set it up that way yet, but I think you can. My 2nd screen was just re-installed after having a circuit repaired at Raymarine.

On my primary, I have COG, speed, local time, and depth. On my 2nd, I'll have rudder angle and a couple of others.

The electronics are awesome. Some new (to me) info that is displayed: Transmission temp, work load, oil pressure; Engine loads and every other possible piece of data that you could think of. I'd have to sit at the helm and page through them to list all of the new stuff.

AWESOME BOAT!

Thanks for the info on the depth reading. Ive got the depth data showing on the vessel view system and the E120 - but its not reporting any values on either. I think either something is wrong with the transducer, somethings not wired correctly, or some wiring has come lose. Hopefully MM will get it sorted out soon.

I did call SeaLift about pricing just to see what they could do, but for now Ive decided to hold off. I should have done what you did and rolled it into the financing.

I agree with you its really cool to have access to all the vessel view data (i think you have the systems view setup - but its very similar data).

Here is a another shot of the new boat taken from someone on my bosses 500DA. Too bad they only had iphone cameras to take the pic with:

I just made that my new signature pic

Good news on the depth finder, the transducer itself is functioning, the junction box it feeds into to send the signal to both the vessel view system and the E120 seems to be fried. For now MM routed the signal to just the vessel view system so I can get a reading there. They are supposed to replace the box this week which should allow for the data to go to the E120 as well as the vessel view screen.

Thanks for all the complements and congratulations from everyone. As you can imagine I'm really enjoying the new boat. :smt038
