My Turn... Sea Pump failure

Went for a cruise heading North on Lake St. Clair this past Saturday. About 6 miles from Port I thought I heard a "go fast" boat, looked and no one there...

Within seconds lost power steering and after about 10 additional seconds System failure on the SmartCraft

Opened the hatch and found the belt off the pulleys.

Sea Tow was prompt and very professional. LOL

Once in my slip I took a good look. The Sea pump pulley (shaft) was out about 3/8" from the rest of them. Been sniffing around and did not find anything on this type of failure.

Marina is a month out. Good thing I have my little Whaler to play with.

That Brass pump is soft and scores easily as well, that shaft walking out is common.

The water pump kit is #8m0050018. I have a SS Harden still in the box I'll sell for half price. I've got an older motor now.

I have another that I should go replace as well.
