Hello all, my name is Ryan and I just picked up a 268 Sundancer. The head is missing and I am not sure what is the right one to put back in her. Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated. I'm sure this is a noob question and if I'm in the wrong forum just point me in the right direction.

Thanks for the help
Ryan

any idea what it had ??
electric or vacuum ??
at worst case put in a portapot

If it's like mine, its one of those larger sized porta-poopers.

Here's a blurry pic of mine:

That is the same one I opted to install in our 270. I plumbed it for the pump-out option. Easy enough to remove and empty at home if needed.

I have limited access to the building that it is in but I will be down there tomorrow. I know it has a holding tank and fresh water line but I am not sure if it was electric or not. I do not believe that it was though. There are so many choices I just don't want to buy the wrong thing and this is all new to me. Thanks for your help!

Yup. I empty mine at home, however the 268's are already set up with pump out option.

The hoses should already be in place from the factory.

my weekender has fresh and waste tank but the waste is gray water not poop water

If it has a hose that goes to a holding tank and a fresh water feed to the toilet it have a vacu flush system. That would explain why the toilet is missing. They are expensive.

I believe that is how it is set up. I will be there tomorrow and will take a look. That's not what I wanted to hear. Fo I have any less expensive options? I don't plan on using it much but I need to get something in there. Can I put a manual flush in it?

Mine is set up to pull water from the lake to flush and utilizes a waste holding tank. It works great if you are in fresh water. I replaced my electric with a manual pump unit. It is easy and simple and cheap than the other alternatives.

Ok that's good to know that I have some options. A lot of the stuff on this boat is all new to me and I have a lot to learn. I will poke around in it tomorrow.

Thanks
Ryan

Your toilet is missing?? Can't find it?? Got nothing to go on?? Call a cop.

Unless you spend a lot of time on the hook, away from 'civilized' plumbing, a porta-potty will be easier and cheaper.

I'm willing to bet money you don't have a holding tank unless it was added later...how do you know its a holding tank? Pics would help. The standard for these boats was the Porta-potti with a pump out option, which not all of them had. Mine has a Manual Head with a holding tank, but that was something I added. Any size porta will fit in there, and will come with mounting brackets. If you want to upgrade or know for a fact that you have a holding tank, then you can put in a Manual head like this:

Here is a link to the work I have done on my 268:

If it's a vacuflush system it will have a diaphragm pump either on the holding tank or close to it. The vacuflush is a nice system (mine is 26 years old on works great). If it's an electric flush there would also be some wiring and a fludh button in the head compartment to power the pump. If no diaphragm pump or wiring then it was most likely a manual flush. Pretty inexpensive and reliable.

I havent had a chance to get down there yet but I may get down there this Friday. The more I am thinking about it I am sure that you are right that it does not have a holding tank. I hope it has a pump out option as I don't really want to lug a porta potti out of her. I am just being lazy. Thanks for all of the answers. I am sure i will have more dumb questions.
