my boat rides way better now.

Ok i have no idea what happend but..after i got my boat back from my 20 hr service my boats got more wot. i had spoken in another thread about my boat going only 30 mph wiht just me and my wife in it wot.. Well today i went out for the 4th (got in before the fireworks cause i didnt want to deal with assholes on the water) and it was:

me: 330 lbs
wife: 125 lbs
Son: 60 lbs
Mom 150 lbs
Mother-IN-Law 160 Lbs

Now thats a total of 825 lbs.. and a full cooler 50 lbs and gear 30 lbs.. so thats a full total of about

905 LBS.. and i was doing 40 mph like it was my job.. the gps read 40 mph and so did the spedo...

I know you might be confused but the last time i went out it was just me and my wife with no gear just towels.. and we were barely hittin 32 mph...

Atleast you got to go out

So how was the water and wind conditions compared to before when you were only getting only the 32mph

no waves at all... wind was not even there!... Man i went to tampa airport to pick up my Mother in law and as i was on the howard franklin, i looked over at the bay.. and i couldnt not believe it.. Not even one ripple! it looked like a sheet of ice not one even tiny wave.. It looked like a lake.. wonderful!!... but today was great.. i almost hit a million jet skiers who are just so dam stupid.. seriously.. they need to ask the person "hey are you a dumb a** before they give them the jetski.. My boat was running very well with all the weight i had in it! I got back to the ramp at like 5 then it started pouring out... so i had my boat out the water and on the trialor as it started raining.. then when i got home to my house it wasnt raining there so i cleaned it up and put it back in the garage!

Sounds like a good time. I got to watch the NY Fireworks on HD TV since MM still has my boat :smt013

Well I'm going to the Storm Prepardness class on the 11th so I figured if they havn't called or said anything by then someone was gonna get a foot in their sun no shine area.

Did you ask the dealer what they did that might have resulted in such a noticeable difference in performance?

Maybe when he bought it they felt he might take it out and blow it up like his first boat (which was a seadoo) so they put a restricter on it and since he brought it back in 1 piece after 20hours they felt it would make it and removed the restricter

(I'm just givin ya a hard time cr0ck1 no hard feelings  )

LOL You know someone else told me that I can't remember who, said they were disconnecting the hour counter and were using my boat :)

As long as they leave some photo's on the boat I might let them off easy.

If anyone is going Thursday to the class for Store Prepardness and you see some guy yelling at people stop over and say hello

if I remember right when they first deliver the boat it's not tuned for best performance. after the breakin period and all the fluids get changed the tune it up just right.

I saw the same results on my 220SD and my 240DA. it's like getting a whole new boat. which reminds me I'm at my 50 hour service interval. I need to stop by and make a service appointment and pick up my aquapoloza package.

That's an interesting idea. But what about boaters who can't realistically get back to the dealer after the break-in period? Is that tune-up thing for real? It seems like my boat's performance is pretty close to what I would expect out of it given the engine and weight combinations.

I use my boat yard mechanic because it's just not practical to go to the dealer. On Long Island, Marine Max is on the South shore and I'm on the North shore. MM is about 35 miles from my marina and I don't have the ability to tow a 270 AJ down there. Taking the boat by water would be a major event - either one way through NYC via the East River, or around the end of the Island. Either way is lots of time and fuel.

Could they posssibly be putting a rev limiter on new engines - like don't go over 3000 rpm for first 20 hours? Call the dealer and ask if it was limited. It would be interesting to know.
With the electronics, they could do that if it's programmed in.

For me personally I did not notice any difference after the 20 hour service that was completed by the dealer. :smt017
