After looking for more than a year for the right job to apply for in the New Orleans area my wife applied for, and accepted an offer for, a position there. But when she tried to give notice to her present employer they told here they did not want to lose her and found her a position there as well and offered a nice re-location package to sweeten the deal. So she will be going to Louisiana with a California income. I will be retiring....sort of.
We listed our home last Thursday, had an Open House Sat & Sun and should had offers tomorrow or Tuesday. It's really a seller's market here. As soon as escrow opens here I will fly there and choose a home (Buyer's market). We will be living on the North Shore of Lake Pontchatrain.
While the relocation package is good they will not pay to move the Cobalt so I will be towing it the 2400 miles to get there. Unfortunately the boat is not ready to move yet. There are so many parts not on it that I am afraid I will lose pieces during the move and some parts are not replaceable. So for the next few weeks I will be working to get the boat ready to transport.
It's going to take some getting used to. I have lived in California since 1981. I guess I will be trading earthquakes for hurricanes. But I am looking forward to exploring the Lake and the Central Gulf Coast. Always up for a new adventure.
