More bad news: Deadly crash near me:

Very sad. I hate being reminded of the importance of safety at someone else's expense.

The fun of boating is being on the boat. So what if slowing down at night costs you a few minutes? You're supposed to be having fun on the water. If it's not fun, stay at the dock! The few minutes of inconvenience is nothing compared to forever dead.

Yeah, I know preaching to the choir. How do we reach those idiots who don't bother to learn from the experience of others?

Best regards,
Frank

Kind of nuts cruising with no lights on. :smt021
I'm surprised at how many boaters anchor at night without leaving there anchor light on.
I guess there worried about dead batteries in the morning:huh:
Coming back into the Marina late at night can be fun at times. Doing like 5 kts. Fairly often there's little 15 ft skiffs or Valcos with no lights on board.
My radar pics them up bigtime. But I'm still heading at them from 300' to 500' ft away.
You can tell they are worried about being ran over by the way they start operating there skiffs.

Can be fun to help a fellow boater realize, They are doing something really dumb

Watching the fireworks on July 4th, Outside the Marina.
Lots of unlit bogeys. Showing on the radar screen.:wow:
