Anybody else going on the Golden Isles trip (July 10-22)?

Looks like there is going to be about 18 boats on the trip. Some of us are going to Jacksonville and may be going to the aquapalooza going on Saturday. Anybody going to it?

Chuck,

12 days. Wow. I assume there were several stops and overnighting along the way???

Also, has your hour meter flipped over yet?

Hope you guys had a great time.

oops should have said 7/20-22/07. We went down the 19th. Did not come back with the group, but stayed a couple extra day until the 24th. Great trip  Yep pictures will be up soon. We had the beach on the south end of Cumberland island all to our-self early on Monday. Yes the wild horses did show up, must have been 1/2 a dozen or so. Not sure if the pictures will do it justice or not. I know the ones I posted about the Jacksonville Aquapalooza did not do it justice.

Chuck,

Just curious why you used the travel lift? I thought you had an aluminum trailer or was it painted? Convenience?? Or is there a boat ramp shortage in GA?

Anyway it looks like you guys had a good time. How many miles did you guys cover between Jekyll and JAX?

No ramp at the place, had to use the lift. Side note: The MM group went back on Sunday. We had planned not to come back until Monday, but had to stay an extra day longer than we had planned since they where not open on Monday. As somebody said the could have been worse places to get stuck at.

Round trip 250+- Miles

Thanks for the kind comments. Yep it was a great trip. Only problem was found that MM messed up and installed fresh water only anodes(SP?) week before the trip. Already replaced them with the correct one.

Great pictures Chuck! Question on the "flying Ms Judy" picture...Shouldn't there be slings under your boat? How is it being lifted? Brian

Brian - Good eye  I thought the same thing. They use the 3 hard points (1-Front and 2-Rear tow points) lift it right off the trailer and put it in the water. Worked great going in. Was a pain hooking up the front one when taking it back out. Put it right back on the trailer. The 240SD is about as big as they go with SeaRays due to weight, but they do 32' CC all the time he said.
