Joint Custody you're going to end up costing me some $$$ with these pictures. I've never been to Lake Powell before, but your pictures really make me want to see it. Awesome pic. Amazing.

Now I gotta admit that I love running the boat when it's rough. I mean REALLY rough, like 6' or larger seas. I guess it brings out the "Captain Ahab" in me, or something like that. Me against the seas, that kind of thing.

But the flip side of that is there is also something to be said for running a boat on seas that are mirror flat, as in this video I took last summer.

I’m not a fan of the rough days. Especially on the ocean. But I love when it’s dead flat like in your video.
We try to make a trip up the Hudson River once a year. We go out our closest inlet (45 minute ride with the no wake zones), head west for 22 miles, then turn right in to NY Harbor and head north. We had dead flat water on one of those trips a few years back where it was dead calm from my dock all the way to the end of our 150 mile trip that day. It was amazing!

as all the places we all boat there a amazing places all over the United States.
I am really lucky to call lake Powell my home port. The lake has a energy that you feel as soon as you see it and to spend days and nights on the lake in the many special spots isn’t bad at all.

I hear ya..l being in big bad ass water most definitely shows your skills however I will take endless flat water all day long.
The crazy thing about the lake is when the water is flat ... like really flat you can’t tell where the water meets the walls and you literally have to stop and refocus your site or you can smack right into the shore or walls.

Sweet.. nothing like that.

JC, we usually come down to AZ about this time of year but won't be this year because of Tina's mother's health issues.

It probably will be some time in January when we come down and will stay into early February. Are you up to having a couple of freeloaders visit for a day or two? We'd stay in a motel somewhere nearby and ask you to show us around the lake. We'd love to bring our 13' Whaler down there to go boating on Powell.

Hell yes anytime you want.

February will still be a little on the chilly side however I am always up to it.

Thanks, JC. As the time gets closer I'll get back in touch with you. We often do Airbnb when we travel. There are many in Page. Is that where you're located?
