After one full year on our first cruiser style boat we are hooked and ready to move up.

I hope to close a deal on a '04 280 DA this Saturday if all goes well. We came up with the name "Half Off" due to the price we paid for the 240 after trading in our open bow Glastron. Now that I think about it, "Half Off" could have multiple meanings.......

ahhhhh, 4-foot-itis and its effect on usernames...

My advice: pick a username you like and stick with it. Once foot-itis settles in you could be changing your username every year or so...

I'm planning to make a simular move, either to a 280 or 300... (As soon as I sell my current boat) which is currently for sale. Even though I may switch boats, I'll still be a river rat... I'm sure after you get your new one you'll still be considered "Half Off"!!! :lol:

Anderson, it has twin 4.3 mpi alpha 1's. That is one of the must haves I had listed when we started looking at the 280's.

And you're right RiverRat, a lot of my friends think that I am "Half Off" for spending this kind of money on a boat, but they just don't understand like we do..........

Made the deal yesterday. Everything went as planned. Actually what I did is surprise my wife with this boat for her 49th. birthday. We had looked at it about a month ago and both liked it a lot. She had been pushing me to deal on it and I kept telling her that we couldn't afford it, all the time I was indeed working with the dealer on a trade. I concocted a story about the dealer putting it into the water for another couple to look at so I could get her on the boat to "just go for a ride" . On the way back to the marina I handed her a card with a picture of the boat and gift certificate good for (1) 2004 280 Sundancer. Well I thought she would be surprised, but didn't figure she would get so emotional, she was so happy that she started crying, then the sales gal got teary eyed. Needless to say, all the wives on our dock thought this was just a great surprise and all their husbands hate me.
