Mid-90's 270 Sundancer Thread

Duckmnn,
Did you have to relocate your actuators as well? Or just kept them where they were originally mounted?

I left them same location. I only changed span. Not chord.I think the added drop fins help it most . Although I changed both fins and span width at same time. I think the fins hold water under tab longer. I'm getting ready to add just fins to buddy's 25' sea ray. Going to see.

Nice work man,
I am curious to see what the fins will do. My trim tab edges are rolled up, not down. I wonder if I can just turn them down, by removing the center pin and just reversing them...
Are you using both the stock lip pointing up and the one that you made that is rolled down? Also did you center the new tabs under the old ones?

Also, was browsing boat for sale out of curiosity and came across this:

I didn't even know that you could make them into a bed! I have no idea where to find it though... Or what it is called for that matter. My boat didn't come with one. But now I need it... for reasons...

Yes I centered mine.I also had extra piece of angle welded for support. By other pics I did not see on other enlarged tab jobs. I do have that extra pad in cockpit. My cockpit table is shaped just like that. The I have the pad in aft cabin . Just snaps on. image.jpg

That was done in the rough by PO. But I had a local carpet store glue the edging on the piece on platform.Bummer for me that would the last time anybody seen it. I forgot to pull before a trip.GONE. Normally we leave a cooler bunged there and it rode fine.No cooler. That pic is a few years old.Probably new carpet in the future and I will make a new one for platform.Plus the cockpit is about due.No tears, but the piping is loose as seen in pic on the seats.

It is the sunpad option, the table fits in tracks molded in the seat edges, a short table post adds support, while the pad itself snaps to the able top.

It would be hard to get someone to part with one unless you found an orphan on CL or eBay.

Sigh... I learned.
Wife was so excited when she saw it. She is like this will be great, where is it on our boat?
Found the Sea Ray part number for the table (711838) and not a single link to buy it anywhere
Can't be that hard to make one out of teak or something, dimensions would be a huge help of course.
Buddy of mine does fiberglass work, I can see if he can whip something up, or maybe even make a mold if there is a market for it

P.S. You guys are awesome, lots of good info and helping hands on this site.

There are two different rear seats on our model, one is smaller and fits flush in the rear wall, the other is larger and looks like the one in the picture you posted. Which do you have?

This one:

Something tells me I am SOL in more than one area.

Yes, sadly I think you are. See how the rear seat in the sunpad setup extends to the edge of the side compartment door. Your seat does not and appears to fit in the wall below the back rest.

Is there more than one version of 97 Sundancer 270, or is it just basic option changes from boat to boat???

Arm what are those boxes mounted on cabinet doors?

Those are very convenient cup holders that fold away when not in use. I love those things. Dirt cheap, adjustable to just about anything and work fantastic. Oh and they also come in Stainless steel or chrome finish!

As I understand it, yellow will be a neutral and is sometimes used on generator connections. I don't have any yellow in my bilge that I've seen.

OMG!!! Anybody have to or try to replace nuts for swim ladder !!! I've welded a wrench onto piece of conduit for longer reach. Now I'm trying to hold wrench and backing plate at same time .Ain't happening! There's only about 4-5" of space there. This all started with a bright idea of re sealing w ith 5200

First post in the thread....

First overnight outing with the family this past weekend. Have stayed with other in the past, but this was a first on our new boat.

1998 Sundancer 270 SE, 7.4 Merc w/ Bravo III.

Went smooth for the most part. You learn a lot about your boat when you are on the hook for the night. Need a new starter battery, a more powerful inverter and more band-aids in the first aid kit. :)

What type of Inverter are you guys running? I have one on the boat but it trips when I kick the microwave on. Microwave is 1100 watts. The one I have is a cheap 1800 max watt inverter with a 1000 watts pure sine. Gotta make that macaroni and cheese for the kids.
