Merry Xmas to me!

I would love to share pictures but the only ones I have are too big to post, unless I am doing something wrong.

I have a lot of advise....please send me a plane ticket from logan international airport to Miami......I will meet you on the boat.....I will take a taxi.......just kidding...congrats.....great boat....obviously my santa and your santa do not have the same elves.......

I just wanted to tell someone/anyone! I just purchased a 2007 44 Sedan Bridge!
The best thing is it's docked in Miami for the winter so Florida will see a lot of me this winter!
Anyone have some insight as to anything about this model i would really appreciate it.

2007 44 Sedan Bridge (Man Cave)

Congratulations! I assume you are bringing it to CT, right? If so, where are you putting her for the summer? We are at Deep River. Again, congrats!

Thank you all! I will post some pics as soon as I can but it is still on the Marine Max site if you want to take a peek. Ok to answer some of the questions. I have been thinking it would probably make sence to hire a captain to make the trip with me in the spring. It would do me good to learn on the way about all the advanced eletronics this boat has over my last one (350DA) If there is anyone out there that has made the trip from Florida to New England please take one step forward.
And At Ease to answer you about where in Ct I plan to dock it I need to find a new place. I kept my 350DA at Chrisholms in Chester but it's a little tight and there is no diesel available?
Please let me know how Deep River has treated you?
And yes I think I have been a good boy this year! So don't listen to that man behind the curtain!!
Oh and one last thing if anyone has a suggestion as to where in the south Florida area I can dock it please let me know. I can keep it where it is for know but I do need to move it eventually.
I,m going down the 31st until the 5th for my inaugural voyage!
Lets Rock I feel your pain about waiting for spring been there done that! But not this time.

Where do you plan to stay? If Miami, you can dock it at any of our county marinas. If you would like to be close to your boat, let me know where you will be staying and I can recommend a marina. I work for Park and Recreation Dept and we have 6 marinas with plenty of slips available.

Congrats on your new boat!

Thank you papogator24.
I am planning to stay on the boat I need to play with the new toy Santa brought me?
Any suggestions you might have would be very appreciated.

If you want to stay close to downtown Miami or Miami Beach, you can visit Miami Beach Marina (not owned by county), however it is a pricey marina.

Another marina that is owned by us and close to downtown Miami and Miami Beach is Crandon Marina and Pelican Harbor. Are you a boat US member? If so, you can get the 25% discount rate for the first 3 days and then the normal rate applies thereafter.

Crandon charges by length, whichever is greater, either the boat or the slip.

As for Pelican, we charge by the length of the boat.

Here is the link to our county marinas. http://www.miamidade.gov/parks/fun-marinas.asp

If you need any more info, let me know.

Nice boat and Merry Christmas to me too! I get to cruise my 2002 320DA to her new berth this weekend! We will take a few days to clean her up, polish the hull and cruise after Christamas (weather permitting). It will be sunny and low 60's today so I hope we get that week after next!

Papogator24 Is there a Marina you would recomend to keep it until probably May?
Thanks again for your help.

Bob,
congrats on the new toy. I have an offer in on a 44 ft Ocean in fla. I will follow this thread closely as I (holefully) will be in the same situation. I looked at hauling it up Boston and got sticker shock. Estimates of 12-14k and up if an escort is needed. Also the bridge needs to come off and then the load/unload fees, etc. Budget 20k to be on the safe side. It is cheaper to hire a captain and drive it up the coast. Plus a lot more fun. Our plan is to have it brought up to to NC and take it from there. I am trying the postive thinking thing...
Good luck:grin:

Thanks 2K and there is nothing less special about your 320. If your like me boating is a passion. 35 years ago I stated with a used 15' runabout, that and every boat since was special! I do have to admit the Sedan Bridge model has been a dream of mine and if not for the economy I would still be just dreamin.
Congrats on the 320 it's a great boat.
Good luck also Sweet R&R on that offer. I though about the haul option for about ten seconds. I saw the overall height and decided I would never even consider having the bridge removed. Talk about the future issues that would unleash!
The trip up is something I always wanted to do and if it works out to be a good trip I am going to do the winter/spring pilgrimage every year. I am hearing about a "can't refuse" early retirement package coming in 2010 and the idea of being able to enjoy the high seas year round doesn't sound bad.

Here is a thought!

Panama Canal, Baja California, west coat to Seattle, Alaska's inside passage, then to Prince William Sound!

Then I can take you fishing!!!!

Congrads and welcome...............

Bob,
The offer on the 44 ft Ocean was accepted. I need to find a good serveyor, who did you use and were you happy with him? If there are any other members that have reccomendations I would be hear about them.
If this all goes through I will be running up the coast in late april. The plan is to have a capatian bring it up to NC and take it from there. For those of us that have 30 yrs before retirement, time is limited.. Yes, I am jealous about early retirement, but good luck.

Try Peter Muir from Allied Marine Surveyors, he has been very good for us to deal
