I was admiring all your custom work to your 195. I have the same boat in black gel but with the same interior colors. Anyway you've got to tell me about the under seat coolers! Was that an option I missed or did you buy those aftermarket? I would love to have that extra space!

Also do you have any other pics of the LED installs in the cup holders etc? Where did you buy the hardware for the lights? Is it marine grade stuff or auto grade?

I really dig your set-up. Wanna trade?

Thanks,
Mac

MacPhly....

How are you? Thanks for the compliments on my boat! It has definitely been a "Work in Progress"...

Let's see.... Just for the record.... When I purchased my boat, it was suppose to be black.... That's what I wanted.... But then I started getting the run-around.... "We'll throw in this, we'll throw in that... But it will be another week...." Blah, blah, blah.... It wasn't so much about the color, but the hoops MM was trying to make me jump thru.... I literally walked out of the deal.... Told them to sell the boat to someone else.... The things they will do when your in the parking lot driving off.....

I ended up going with the red one.... With lots of upgrades that I wasn't going to get in the black one.... Tower, carpet, bigger engine, galvi trailor... The list goes on and on... AND for less than the black one!

Enough of me rambling... Let's get to the boat.....

The under-seat coolers.... I actually got the idea from someone on here... But right off, I can't remember who..... (I'm sure the "Search" option would help me find the thread).

From my understanding, Sea Ray did not offer this option until 2007.... I may be wrong, but that's what I seem to remember during all of my research. I was tired of dragging around two ice chest and losing valuable floor space. Someone else on this site did the same modification, and i knew I had to do it. I contacted MM and they put me in touch with "Parts"....

They hadn't a clue what I was talking about.... I FINALLY got a hold of someone "In the know", and they hooked it right up... Ordered them on the spot.... They were a little pricey (about $190 for both, with all of the fittings so that the coolers will drain to the bilge) but it was money well spent. They are fairly small, but they do the job for a long day trip. Now when we're going to be out all day, we just bring along a small ice chest that tucks out of the way.

Here's the part #'s for the coolers and fittings as per my invoice:

MM2384617 "COOLER, BOX AFT SEAT STBD F
MM2384618 "COOLER, BOX AFT SEAT PORT F
MM322883 "ADAPTER, GENOVA 1/2 "MPT X 1/

The bench seats in the 2006 Sport 195 are simply held down by velcro (at least mine are). Just pull them up, and there is an impression in the fiberglass. I simply "RotoZipped" out the opening leaving about 1 1/4" lip all the way around (I think... You know what they say... Measure twice... Cut once!) I then slipped them into place and ran a bead of silicone under the lip of both coolers. never had a problem since. I did have to purchase two plugs (I got them from West Marine) for inside the coolers and I purchased 5 ft. of 3/4" aquarium hose from Lowes hardware store for the drains to the bilge....

Easy project.... A little time consuming (Took me about 2 hours to cut the holes) and a little nerve-racking... Cutting two BIG holes in your brand new boat! Boats aren't suppose to have holes in them! That makes for a BAD day on the water!

Now the lights....

The blue led's in the cup holders, I purchased from AutoZone. They have done the job, but since installing them I have had to replace 4 of them. I just recently found a new blue led "puck" that I have ordered, and will be installing them in the 6 stainless steel cupholders I purchased just yesterday. Here's a link to the new blue LED's that will be going in the boat in a few days:

http://www.superbrightleds.com/mini_tubes.htm

They are the "ULITE" Round LED Accent Light (blue)

Hopefully I will get to that project in the next week or so... I will take pics of the install and get the information on here!

I know this is quite a bit of info (and I'm long-winded), but I hope this helps you out if you do decide to tackle these projects!

Wesley...

Yes, that's it! You beat me to it... I listed another thread..... I think the one I listed was the conversation "after the fact".... I'm not sure.... I've slept since then!

MacPhly....

These two threads should fill you in on the coolers.... Hope they help out...

Wesley... Glad you chimed in...

Do you have any pics or wiring schematic of your "Second battery" install?

Just started researching it more tonight and just not really happy with what I have found....

Thanks for the info! Now I just have to get some parts and wait until the weather turns and I can uncover my boat for the season. I'm jealous you guys down south are boating all ready. Ice isn't even out up here yet. My parents still have 3 feet of snow on the ground! (northern Maine) Can't wait to get back on the water!

Thanks again,
Mac
