Escondido, California, just North of San Diego.

1988 model Sea Ray 230 Weekender towed behind a 2002 Chevy Trailblazer.

Hi Gang - About a year ago I had the bellows and shift cable replaced on my Alpha One outdrive. The shift into forward now takes a longer travel to engage, and it slowly seems to be getting worse. The original mechanic is several hundred miles away, so I'd like to know if someone can recommend a local-to-San Diego (Escondido/San Marcos/Oceanside) Mercruiser mechanic to do the shift cable adjustment.
Thanks!

Bob, just a suggestion, but the adjustment is really not that hard to do. If you look at where the movement happens on the engine bracket (have someone shift while you look), you'll see a barrel adjuster/nut. It's just a matter of moving that nut so you have the same engagement time/length getting into forward and reverse.

Try a "title only" search for things like adjust shift cable. Read up on it a little - it's really not that hard. I know I didn't give you the answer you were looking for, but I hope this helps.
