Memorial day at zachs bay?

Yeah, I meant Jones just for entering. After my little mud sucking incident I am very cautious of water depth. I hear that the shoals in the inlet move around a lot. Is it well marked?

As for my info, right now it looks like Saturday for me. Greg and Colleen, kids Tiffany(11), Ashley(6), Zachary(6). Are you overnighting there?

hey Greg, thanks for responding jones Inlet is plenty deep havent heard of any problems so far. as for overnighting it depends on the weather but it's always a possibility. i'll post ur info for sat.?

Who all is going to raft-up next weekend? Is the list in post #15 complete?

What time should we plan on being there?

So far the weather is looking pretty good. Although that might be a bad thing this early...

Hey Greg, so far that's the list and i think you should shoot for 9:30-10:00am I will monitor channel (72) to help locate the others, I have two other boats coming Sea rays of course!! that are not on CSR so i think the total so far is 5-6 we'll see as the week goes on

I guess they are just very cautious...

"The inlet, which is used mostly by pleasure craft and fishermen, should not be attempted without local knowledge because the channel and depths are constantly changing."

weather.com shows partly cloudy, 77', and 10% chance of precip.

I was planning Zachs for the air show. I'd be coming with another couple (NON Sea Ray) can we raft up :smt001

It looks like a Sunday date for me....

Paul, i think i;m only attending sat, but some others might stay for both days I guess non sea rayers can attend lol switch your days and go sat looks like a bigger crowd

Yeah Paul switch to Saturday, I am only there Saturday.
As far as a non-SeaRay coming, that's fine as long as they don't raft next to me

I was looking at the charts, planning my route. I'll be coming in Jone's Inlet then under the Meadowbrook State Parkway Bridge and was thinking I would go under the sloop channel Bridge, but depending on where I look, I get different height clearances (15ft, 17ft, 18ft). Anyone know what the real clearance is? I don't think I'll make it.

It looks like I can go around Green Island, and then under the Wantagh State Parkway Bridge, but how is the depth? I see a spot on the chart marked (4ft rep 1998)

Hey, We will be there Sporting my new radar /Radar arch. Hey, will we be able to see the planes coming with the radar? I guess not a good idea with all those boats there with the radar on ): John G

I believe that the Sloop Channel bridge will take you north to Freeport. You want to bear east when you clear the inlet past the Short Beach USCG station and under the Meadowbrook Pkwy then continue east past the Wantagh Pkwy. Both of these crossings are draw bridges if you don't have needed clearance.

Guys... I'll be there Sat and Sun. Planning on spending Sat night in Zach's and Sunday night in hemlock. I also have my brother-in-law following me in my fishing boat (18ft Grady). Since I am a Sea Ray owner, i hope that is ok :)

This is what I was looking at.

I would think after the inlet I pass under Bridge #1 (Meadowbrook Parkway), then I was thinking of Bridge #3 (Sloop Channel Bridge) but the chart says 15ft fixed. So I thought maybe go up to Bridge #4 (Wantagh State Parkway Bridge)

There is a little note about 4 ft reported 1998, just west of Bridge #4.

Greg, you're right, the Sloop Channel Bridge is the way to go. The bridge has recently been completely rebuilt and is now a draw bridge. You should have no issues getting thru. Have a safe trip.

The girlfriend and I were planning on coming out but the boat seems to have other ideas. Still fighting a overheating issue. Hope you guys enjoy it!
