Memorial day at zachs bay?

Anyone know if theres an air show at jones beach(zachs bay) this year ? and if so anyone going? :huh:

Blue Angels on both Saturday and Sunday. I hope to be going both days, haven't missed one yet.

We go every year. We anchor up just west of the Jones Beach piers. The planes fly right over our heads.

Dan, I tried the fishing pier location last year, going back to Zachs this time. the Angels seem to get a lot closer to the deck than the T-Birds do and the soloists spend more time over Zachs. Also out by the piers it seems that someone always plows through with a 4 foot wake .

Guys, this will be our third time at zachs and we thought it was a great spot , it was more protected. Let me know if anyone is interested in a raft up?

I can see it being better at Zachs. And your right about the knuckle heads with the 4' wakes. At the piers when the show ends I get out of there quick, and run thru Haunts Creek back to Wantagh Pk. to get away from the rest of the crowd.

Been at Zach's every year since the air shows started. Bestway IMO is to arrive at 9:00 AM (show starts at 9:30) and stay until after 5:00 PM. The show ends about 3:30 so the crowd and idiot factor are gone by then. On a normal weekend at Zachs we stay until 6:00 anyway.

A bunch of us from SS3 go every year. Get there as early as possible, because by 10am it's crazy busy. It's a great spot to watch the show from.

As long as the weather is good.you could go to the ocean to watch too.they really fly right over your head out there and there is not the zachs bay craziness.

we do the air show every year. Zachs bay is the place to be. the 4ft waves by the pier pushed us into the bay 2 years ago.

more the merrier!! far as i'm concerned just dont tie up next to me the wife will want a bigger boat ,if you want post your info and i'll post it on the opening page. Jones inlet for what entering zachs bay? or watching the airshow? i like to watch from zachs due to the lack of waves it can get a little tight with traffic but i've never had a problem hope you can make it , :smt038

Yeah, I meant Jones just for entering. After my little mud sucking incident I am very cautious of water depth. I hear that the shoals in the inlet move around a lot. Is it well marked?

As for my info, right now it looks like Saturday for me. Greg and Colleen, kids Tiffany(11), Ashley(6), Zachary(6). Are you overnighting there?
