Just a reminder for those thinking of moving your boat to a great place this year on the Chesapeake (middle) Mears are offering incredible deals. We had been at another Yacht Club for 9 years outside of Baltimore and didn't know what we were missing by moving our boat to Mears and the Kent Island area.
If you do decide to check it out ask for Penny the manager and mention Tommy and Beth Thompson its a good plug for us.
Any questions you might have feel free to pm us and I'd be glad to help:smt001.
After this winter we are all ready for some fun,sun and getting together.

Thanks and come on spring!!!

Tommy

I grew up in the summers on G Dock at Mears Point Marina. Nice place. Not my cup of tea anymore but when I loved to party it was great!

Yes if you want to party thats fine and there are plenty of restaurants and outside bars to go to but also there is fine dining and a laid back atmosphere.
We love the giant pool and tiki bar. Also very close to Saint Michaels and plenty of great anchorages if you're and on the hook type of boater.

I talked to the Mears Pt. people at the Atlantic City boat show last week. They told me Annie's Steak House will be torn down this year and replaced with a new restaurant and condos along the marina front docks.
A new restaurant will be nice but I don't care for a row of condos in front of the marina.

That's the marina our boat came from. Beautiful area! I did start doing the math on weekend flights. Then came back to reality and stuck to plan A. The boat came to Michigan. Enjoy!!!

My boat was there when I bought it a few years ago before I ran it home to Jersey. I was only there for a few weeks and it was early December so the place was pretty quiet except for one thing. Maybe it's just me but the noise from the traffic going over the bridge was annoying to me. Other than that it was a really nice place and the people were very friendly.

In the summer the noise of Rt. 50 traffic is drowned out by the Red Eye Dock Bar rock bands.
It could be worse, I bought my boat in Essington, Pa., which is under the take off path of Philadelphia Airport. While talking to the marina people there, conversations halts then resumes during jet take offs.

The road noise has never been an issue neither has the bars. With 540 slips there are plenty of places to move to if you don't like where your located.

We are also in the water this year, Mears installs bubblers for any boat that stays in the water, they have been operating since December. Brewster, we are finally able to go down next weekend, I will check for you, let me know the slip #.
We are on E dock facing the narrows, during the season, traffic noise not really an issue, not like dropping the hook up some creek either. Our music on the boat cancels any noise from Red Eye's or traffic noise. We did hear anything about Annie's either. We have two live aboards at our dock, they keep an eye on everything, boaters are such great people!
