Marine diesel prices...

$3.39/$4.24 gasoline and diesel in Grand Rapids, Michigan today at the Meijer stores. Add $.50 or so to get the marina price.

Although gas is higher, diesel prices are usually cheaper at the marina than the corner gas station... here in Virginia anyway.

I just saw this thread. Wow, I have fueled up three times out here in the Bahamas. Twice at $4.86 and once (more Recent) at $5.05. Those diesel prices in the states look pretty good. I can't wait to go back. Wait... What am I saying?!?!? I will need fuel one more time on this trip, then back to the big island.

Vacationing this week in the Florida Keys.

While in Key West earlier this week prices at the marinas were $4.51/gas and $4.79 diesel.

Hey if she can spend $210 on a dye job, cut and blow dry and $105 on a set of nails, by jimminie I can spend 2Gs on a load of fuel!

Okay my fine snow bound friends, when you peel off that cover and wake up those thundering engines here is what you will face this spring.

Four weeks ago I short filled my tanks with 200 Gal ULSD delivered and paid $3.35 9/10 plus sales tax and this price was slightly more than road diesel. I was shocked and inquired as to why delivered bulk was MORE than road fuel given the 0.55 in road tax not required?:smt101

Last week a tanker was in the YC and quoting $4.05 for Valvetec Diesel including sales tax. A friend of mine told me tonight he's just fueled today @ $3.89 plus sales tax for 1,000 gal.:smt021

I was told that USDL was in extremely short supply due to storage issues. The legend goes that the old tanks for diesel can not be used for USDL until they are re-lined. It sounds like BS to me and it is just a chance for wholesalers to gouge. We have any class action lawyer out there that want to take on Big Oil?:smt100

Wow Chad.... where have you been? Hope all is well.

I've 'sampled' a bit of diesel in the last 2 weeks.... say 4000 gallons or so. $3.94 is as low as I've seen it and I paid $4.99 in the keys. I've not heard anything about the storage of the ULSD. Interesting idea.

"They" claim that it only cost up to $0.25/gal more to refine ULSD than LSD. So why the extra buck?

Best regards,
Frank

$5.00 a gallon on the Sassafras( Skipjack ), and thats out of season, and last years fuel more than likely. The worst part of my day was a B-14 Camp Zinc costing over $110.00.....

I usually fuel up at least once a month (more frequent in the summer) but I started having the local fuel truck come to my dock and paying the same price. ($3.72 last time) I found it to be much cleaner fuel in the winter months where fewer boats are out and about in winter. Anyway, Just made a trip from Stuart Florida to Belhaven, NC and here is what I found. Florida @ 3.33 Hilton Head @3.72 and North Carolina @ 3.43per gallon.

Here we go. Diesel 4.19 gas 3.79 and the marina dealer on the evening news said its going higher when this load is gone.

Diesel is now $.90 to .$99 more per gallon than gasoline in West Michigan. Anyone know why it's so pricey compared to gas?

Yesterday, after I changed out my fuel filters, I had to go the marina to refill my "filter changin' emergency gallon of diesel". I went to the local marina, and diesel was $3.31/gallon...and regular 87 octane gasoline was $3.71.....

At the Hess station on Route 9, just up the road.....diesel is $3.93/gallon and regular 87 octane gasoline is $2.92/gallon.

Considering the road tax, which is significant, is removed from diesel at the marina, I would expect that kind of difference... If diesel is more at the marina AND the road tax is removed, it's a rip off.

Just up the bay, on the Magothy River, diesel was $4.49 yesterday. Gas (89 octane) was $3.94.
