I haven't been by a fuel dock in a while and so I'm almost afraid to ask, but what are marine diesel prices looking like these days?

I know, I know, if you have to ask you can't afford it... but I'd like to know what kind of hurt I'm in for...

Hey Tim, When you move from Triton to BIH for the Spring, would you tow me as far as the opening to the Sassafras?

Make sure you convert the price to boat dollars so you don't have a stroke.

My slip neighbor and I have a truck come to the marina when/if our fuel needs coincide. Paid $2.60 that route. Else, I've been seeing $3-$4 depending on location in the Southeast.

I'm sure Brian can pipe in from the Bahamas with a price that would make all of us feel better.

Just paid $3.75 Friday via fuel truck to my house. Since it' been sunny and 80 here in St. Pete I plan on using a good amount of diesel today!

Dominic, Glad you are on this morning...How about a tow from the opening of the Sassafras (I'll come out to meet you) over to the BIH get together. I'll have a cigar for you...thanks in advance.....what a guy!!!!

What is the exchange rate from US $ to boat dollars these days anyway? Something tells me that the boat dollar has fallen even more than the US dollar...

For ease of conversion, I've been using the 10% conversion rate. So, fuel is only 30-40 cents in boat dollars. See, it helps!

Yeah, I just spent a little over "$100" on 2 batteries and they're not even installed. But, the boat dollar reference helps.

According to the DowJones Gooblefarb index $1247.42 USD = $1 Boat Dollar. That is a record low for the US Dollar; Down from $1128.21 USD=$1 Boat Dollar last memorial day.

Give it another month or so. It still home heating season in the miserable part of the country. It has been a brutal one, too. Since diesel and heating oil are very similar, once the demand for heating oil goes down, more diesel will be available and the price will probably fall.

Best regards,
Frank

Regular was $3.52, Diesel was $3.74

As for Boat dollars I was looking at a used boat publication and was shocked to see 2000 - 2002 310DA to 420DA's with gas or diesel and low hours running between 50k and 120k

Just saw this at a website of a local fuel dock...

89 Octane Regular Price:$3.699
Diesel Price:$3.999

Any thoughts? :smt089
