you are right the plow anchor does look and fit better on your boat....
I have been doing some research on the Mantus anchor and have yet to read one negative review...that's pretty impressive......I may try one...West Marine has 25 lb. galvanized Mantus for $229......if it doesn't work any better than the plow it won't be the first (or last) $200 I have wasted......my boat does not have a anchor pulpit so the Mantus should fit OK in the roller chute......hopefully....if needed they sell a stop for the Mantus (Anchor Mate) that fits on the roller to help hold the anchor steady in the roller....

Providing proper use of scope, I'd bet a Mantus/Rocna would work extremely well providing it fits your rigging set-up. I would have gotten one if the fit wouldn't have been so tight, but like previously stated - I'm enjoying a 100% set rate and hold rate with my current rig - so no complaints.
Not sure if you're all chain or a combo, but I will never have anything but all chain - especially for a mud bottom set-up. Something to consider. Also, I see Mantus has what looks to be a superior swivel set-up - I'd definitely consider that as part of your system. A swivel has proven invaluable on my set-up.
