Man are boat prices going up

I'm not even looking but came across an ad online for a 1999 SeaRay 370.... Last year asking prices for 98-99s were 60k-70k all day long. Asking price now was 110k!! I thought it had diesels but nope!
Yeah, things are ridiculous right now. But I have seen some price reductions of overpriced boats that sat all winter. Still pretty pricey though.

I have my 86 390 ec going up for sale . It does need work but I have another boat and gasoline prices and dock prices going up.

It is possibly also a result of expectation of inflation. The money pumped in is causing spikes everywhere.
Lumber prices are up 50% in some cases because home building is so hot.
We just need a few more stimulus priming in and who knows.

And don’t forget all the dollars that were not spent on expensive vacations in the last year that people have available to put in to recreational items like boats.

I sold the 95 330DA in 2008 for low 50s. It's on the market now for mid-60s. I sold the Regal 3780 for upper $80s about 10 years ago, that same year make and model is now selling for over 130k.

I spent last spring, summer and fall trying to find the next boat, covid ruined that plan. I've been working with a reputable broker who says he sees no end to this. First time boat buyers are buying 40-ft boats. Last year he told me to wait till this year. A few weeks ago he told me if I can get a good 37' boat for under 80k to buy it. So I did, private seller on craigslist, offered him cash the very first day he had it posted. Can't go another summer without being on the water.

Multiple life situations lead me to believe boating and the community it brings out weights the potential loss in the future
Well said. I feel good about the boat I'm under contract on, feel like I got a good boat for a good price and that's all I need at this point.

I have cleanliness specs to meet washing engine parts we machine. I buy parts washers all the time ... this is a note today from my part washer guy 3 months later after he originally quoted me.... up 30% for steel

“Attached are the updated quotes.
Prices keep going up, I am sorry about that”

I just got outbid on a private seller boat, on the market 24 hours, I offered full price. It's 3 hours from my house, we did a video call so I could see it. My offer was contingent on sea trial and survey. 2 hours later he got the same full price offer, from a seller over 12 hours away, sight unseen, no contingencies meaning no sea trial ,survey or inspection. I told the seller to take the offer, I would.

I'm loving the rising used boat prices. I just sold (a couple of months ago) our 550 Sedan Bridge for slightly more than I paid for it 10 years ago.

I did have a couple of things working in my favor. First, when I bought it we were in a recession, the boat was located in Detroit where unemployment was about 35%, and I negotiated hard without being emotionally involved.

Second, the boat sold when prices were skyrocketing. So, basically we were fortunate enough to use Beachcomber for 10 full years and, other than routine maintenance and a few LARGE repairs paid for by insurance, we used her for free.

Gotta love that!

I have a 2007 260 sundeck. I paid 28k for it in a divorce sale 3 years ago. I think I could get 35-40k for it today.

We have a 2008 jetboat we got new for 65K. Been offered 65K for it, new ones are 120K. US dollar has devalued from other world currency by 15%+. All getting very expensive to live. Sister just bought new car. Hard to find and prices are high compared to a few years ago. If interest rated go up to stop inflation it will be very difficult for many.
