Seems magnesium anodes for the 3126 are hard to come by, so I thought I’d try to make some in prep for coming to fresh water
Bought some magnesium round stock online. Found some 3/8” x 3” bars, and I chucked it into a small drill press. I used a hack saw to cut into 1-1/2” long blanks. Then I turned down the end 3/8” to .250” using a cheap woodworking chisel. Then I chamfered the end to help starting the thread die. Finally, I hand cut the 1/4-20 threads.
Here are my proto types for the aftercooler. First one took me about half an hour, second about 5 minutes. All this with cheap woodworking tools.
