made the paper...

Congrats, Jon, A star is born. I saw that on the picture page last night. They say snow tomorrow night maybe. I'm out but not wrapped yet.

That looks like the Small Boat Harbor - is that where you slip? Do they have winter services, or do you have to take it somewhere else for hauling and winterizing?

The NFTA Small Boat Harbor does not have haul out and storage. They just have the usual launch ramps, fuel, pump out etc. I see the rates are pretty good for a 30' slip with electric, but many of the docks are in need of repair. I'm curious as to how many of the 1000+ slips were actually filled this past season.

There are no winter services from the NFTA Small Boat Harbor, so everyone that has a boat without a trailer goes their seperate ways at seasons end for storage. There are a couple marine dealers close by that have storage yards within a very short distance. We use them to haul out on a hydraulic trailer and store.

I'm guessing 75 to 80 % ? We are on a dock that has 30 and 40 foot fingers, all the 30's were full and we actually had about 5 or 6 new 40 foot occupants. there was a lot more activity on the dock this year. In '91 we had to be on a 2 year waiting list to get in. Times have changed

How would I know if it's an '04?
The last digits of your HIN. Mine is B606, meaning the boat was built in Feb (A=Jan, B=Feb...)06 and is a 2006 model. Some models built later in the year could be J607, for example, meaning the boat was built in Oct (J) 06 but is a 2007 model.

no kidding! I remember hearing about 5 year waiting lists for the Erie Basin Marina, but this year (my first boating year), I just called a few weeks before the season started and got a slip...

Kaykook - When did you graduate? 1976 from Lasalle Senior High for me. (Now an outlet mall).

1976 for me too, but had moved to Michigan by then. I still have alot of relatives in Western New York. Need to get back there for a Mighty Taco, Beef on Weck and some boating on the river one of these days.

If none of those relatives have a boat, let me know when your coming and we'll go for a boat ride down to Swiston's on the canal for a sandwich

Make sure you don't ask to see a menu!

No need to see the limited menu there, they have one of the best Beef on Weck's in the entire area. Along with a cold beer, that is all I would need .

Now I'm getting hungry. :smt001

Thanks for the offer 3sons

Now you guys are making me homesick - Haven't been to Swiston's (or on the canal) in years. Two of my siblings still live in Tonawanda - gonna have to get them to take us there for that beef on weck next time we visit.

Ah I never knew you could read the HIN like that. Mine ends in H506. Which I guess Mean August. But its definitely not built til 06 because its the latest model one (same as the current 240 Sundancer) and the 05 model was the previous version. How does that work? Would they have built it in 05 and then stockpiled it?
