Did you check out all the residence of Round Island? I see you were at the light house.

Looks like you had some good weather.

PD, we were just up there and enjoyed the same scenery and great weather that you did. That certainly is a beautiful are to boat in. As I stood at the viewing area at the top of Arch Rock, looking out over the flat calm water, I couldn't help but wish that I had my boat there.

Nice area you love in!

We seemed to hit the four nicest days of the year (miracles still happen). We were just at Round Island long enough to look around the lighthouse. With the ferry wakes washing up on the rocky shore, it's not the friendliest landing site for the dinghy.

Great pics Play Dough! There is nowhere in the world like Mackinac Island - and it's our favorite port to visit. We were supposed to be up there this past weekend, but the northerly's were howling through Friday so we stayed put in Charlevoix. It's normally a two hour trip from here but not in the slop we had on the lake. Our week up there in July was the same weather you had last week.

And you have no caption on the mint green Chris Craft - Marion Leigh. She's owned by the owners of the Grand Hotel - the Musser family. And I've always loved how Unity is painted "Ford Blue."

Thanks for sharing your awesome moments!

There are no residents on Round island.

I didn't get the story on the ChrisCraft although the guy on the boat next to me (west bluff resident) made some comment about there being a story behind it. The classic cruisers just catch my eye and I usually snap a picture. Probably a good thing you stayed in Charlevoix. I think we had a wind chill in the Straits last week. It was beyond chilly.

I didn't think there was any development on Round Island. Just Mackinac and Bois Blanc to the south.

Although we have cruised to the area in the past, this is our first year as seasonal slip holders in the Straits (Mackinaw City). So far, it's been a good decision for us. We've really enjoyed the area (once the midge fly hatch ceased).
