Lowrance 7HDI Fishfinder installation on 240 Sundancer

Hi can anyone give me some advice on positioning the transducer on the transom of my 2009 240DA? I want to avoid drilling holes in hull if possible. Where are the factory fitted fits finders located?

I epoxied the transducer for my humminbird 561 in the bilge and it works great. I'm not sure this would be an option for down imaging units but you can always experiment to see. I opted for humminbird's shoot through hull transducer and there doesn't appear to be any signal loss. My factory transducer is a through hull design going all the way through. That's on my 215, and I'm not sure about the 240.

Here's how I installed my GPS back in spring '08. I have had zero issues. It works great. Accurate temp and depth.

For the down imaging to work it will need to be on the transom, not epoxied into the bilge. You'll want to mount the ducer on the starboard side, about a foot off centerline.
