Hello everyone, glad to be on board. I will rack your brains to find out all I can about my Sea Ray. All the post are so informative it sound like I can get the best advise to help me boating. First of all I have a 1977 SRV240HT, hard to find any info on it. I picked it up a few years ago and spent as much time learning about my Sea Ray and boating. My wife wanted a camper, I had a nice bass boat that went to fast for her, couldn't make plane was too fast!. So I got the Sea Ray. Ha! Ha! We both got hooked, fast. I never had anything so big so it was a learning curve. So much maintenance, but the more I learned the more I loved boating. Then we met some Loopers! Wow! Talking about camping! Its the best of both worlds. We learned our 24' was a little small for looping but we see loopers come down the Illinois in smaller boat now and then. Anyway that's our dream. In the mean time I try to learn all about boating, maintenance and anything that will keep us above the water and not in it. About my boat, "Comodore". I thought I got a good deal from a man in the windy city till the price of boats dropped 6 month later. My Sea Ray was used for fishing on Lake Michigan. It was well taken care of but well used. The " Comodore" runs great, easy to work on and not so big to put in the water via my wife and I. We did a few repairs to insure our safe boating and anything to make it home away from home. We did learn to get a slip for the year to make it easer on us and i look forward to meeting other boaters.
Like I said I am going to rack some brains to find out all I can about my Sea Ray hard top. I will post questions like MPG, rpm, props and going thru locks and reading about all the tips from other boaters. Looking forward to hearing form anyone, safe boating and have fun.
