Lost My Best Friend

Sorry for your loss..

Very sorry for your loss. Our thoughts and prayers with you. Every loss is early and unacceptable.
Best regards.

I spent the better part of a decade not talking to my dad, now we're best friends (there's no other way to explain it, you said it best). The admiral doesn't understand how we can talk on the phone for 3 hours straight, and then go and spend time together till the wee hours of the night. I treat every minute as though it is borrowed time with him, my only regret is not doing it sooner. I wish all the best for you and your family during these trying times and I'm certain that you and your dad will meet again in a better place.

I'm younger than most on here so my father is still around. I grew up with my patents and my Moms parents. Sad to say but I was closer to my grandparents at that time. Grandpa got sick when I was almost 9. Died when I was 17. He got so bad I prayed to god to take him. Grandma followed him in 09.

They follow us. They touched our lives in so many ways. You will always have or see things that they left behind. There are tools in my shop that have stories. Cars that gave memorable rides. It is because of this they never truly leave. They advance up. And look down upon us. From time to time you get the feeling that they are there and you feel as if you were back years ago. They are there. That's their way of showing you.

I fear for the day I loose my folks. That's why I'm trying to mend fences with Dad.

In the end I offer my condolences. I hope the story helps
Your friend Steve

Dang! :smt089 I read the thread title and thought maybe your dog died...which would have been sad enough...but this is so much worse. My condolences!

I lost my father 11 years ago and my mother last May.

Parentless at age 44.

Prayers to you and your family!

Sorry to hear that. I remember when my Dad died (60), and I was about 27. Surprising how much it matters. Really sorry to hear it. As people say, it will get better with time. Then it still is a hurt, but it's an old hurt. Best to you. Paladin

Sorry for your loss. Three years ago I lost my mom. She raised me by herself after my father died when I was 2. She was my friend as well. As time goes by, the heart ache will change, to understanding and joy, knowing your friend is always around you!

Sorry for your loss. Mom passed one year ago last Friday so I took my family out in the boat
To visit where her ashes were spread, throw some roses, have a toast and just spend time with our 84 year old father. It sounds like you were tight with him so it will hurt forever...just remember the time you had with him.

Same from me. I'm so sorry. Prayers from us too.
