Ok got my bill for storage today :smt013 HOA's sure do suck sometimes.

Anyways right now I'm paying a little over $100 a month for outside uncovered storage. It's lit has security cameras and an key coded gate so I can go in anytime.

Anyone have any suggestions I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thanks

You looked at a mini storage facility with a large enough bay to store it inside? :smt017

The closest thing I found was Uhaul has some RV ones but they was like 300 a month for it.

sounds like it's time to move to a waterfront home...got a couple of deals in the neigbrohood if your interested.

when you add up the monthly storage, the HOA fines I mean fees, etc... you might actually end up with an overall lower monthly.

these are just a couple of quick ones i pulled up in my neigbrohood. NO HOA, NO Storage fee. park you trailer in you're driveway, park you're boat on a lift go out at the spur of the moment no avanced playing no lunging all youre gear to and from the boat.

you may want to check some of these out. you could find a steal in the current market.

Took a look... woah! houses are smaller then mine and more then double what I paid for mine.

Although it would be nice to be on the water I think that's a bit out of my budget.

It was just a suggestion, based on what you're pumpin out on a monthly with the storage and HOA fee's I know those 2 items alone can add nearly a $100,000 when compare to mortgage or more.

only reason I brought it up was NO HOA, NO storage fees.... Sorry just trying to help.

Also did you check the UHAUL on Wes Hillsborough east of race track road. they have a secure RV storage lot which could fit the bill.

I'll give them a shot.

Believe it or not storage so far is about $1500 a year. HOA fees here in the Eagles are some of the cheapest around only about 1800 a year

When I checked Uhaul a year ago I checkedo n on Gunn and they from what I was told are all computer linked together and the guy checked everywhere but couldn't find anything available.

other option to think about with all these water front homes up for sale and the market not moving. you might want to call the realtors for some of these homes and see if the owners want to rent the lift for say $100.00 a month. As long as some of these have been on the market you might just get some taker, just for the extra cash coming in the door.

this way you get the benifit of water front living with out the cost. when the house does finally sale you just move to the next on.

Actually that's kind of a good idea, and we are really good friends with the our realtor so I'll give her a call and she what she says heck she may even know of a storage place that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

My realtor was no help.

Called around to a bunch of places either they were cheaper then $100 and had nothing available or were way over $100

Demand here is through the roof. Everyone I talked to recommends the place I've been waiting over a year on that's being built which I have a deposit on.

I did find a 34' Wet slip a guy was renting for $100 not far from my house. He lives in a condo and it has a slip but he has no boat.

It's very tempting but not sure if I wanna keep my boat behind someones house I don't know.

Found a couple of covered spots for about $150 a month but not available.

Most marina's are asking atleast $10 a foot overall length if not higher.

If he has a lift in the slip, you're ok. I don't think you want to keep a 240SD in a wet slip.

When you are in a wet slip, you add a monthly (or, in my case, bi-monthly) dive service, you need bottom paint, and there are other issues with an outdrive boat like yours.

I am actually quite surprised that you can find a place, any place, for $100 a month.

The cost of storage is one thing that may eventually get me back to a trailer boat.

That was the first thing I asked was is there a lift, but there is not or I would be all over it!

Yea I don't want to keep a 240 in the water if I had the 310DA like I want then yea I'd have to do something cause our truck can't pull that and I don't think I wanna try that and if we got a bigger truck it wouldn't fit in the garage and then the HOA would be fine'ing us to death.

The search moves on I left some messages yesterday maybe someone will call back and I'll get lucky.

If I had the money to invest I think I know what I'd invest it

Slips at my marina, for my size boat, are selling for $385,000.

I would not invest that kind of money in a muddy hole.

When my slip sells, I will probably be forced to relocate. There's no way I'll be covering someone's mortgage on that slip.
