Long winter at the range

I brought the sig 365x to carry and feel its just way to big.. In and out of the truck, standing sitting... So I think I'm gonna buy the 380 smith & western body guard. It's a nice little pocket guy.

Help! I cleaned Susan's P320XComp Macro but it randomly failed to feed and I am to blame. It is unfair. Beyond the barrel and meticulous carbon removal, I brushed the carbon off the tops of the followers on her four 17 rd mags pretty much for looks. At the range she is having jams caused by rounds not rising in the mags. They could be a bit nose down. She just bought another 1000 rds of 147 grain under the belief it will be easier on her hands and blames me. I'll give her a box of my 115 but all was well before I cleaned her gun. At least she made a good dinner. If it will cycle 115s, I'll open and clean the mags laying a thin trail of silicone brake grease down the interior of the mags where the bullet noses come to rest. Wish we still had exposed, self-lubricating lead.
Flitz polish the feed ramp.

Disassemble the mags and clean internally. Replace the spring with a Wolf for better reliability. FORGET the grease. It will make it worse in time.

Teach proper hand hold. Any contact with the slide needs to be corrected. Be sure the hold is firm and not limp wristed.

If all else fails send it back to SIG. If that doesn't work trade it for a Shield or a Max 9.

Possible choice, but the LCP Max is a better option.

Do not buy until you try it first, it has a ridiculously long trigger pull, I bought one for my wife, and we both hate shooting that gun. If we were closer I would let you borrow mine. I bought her a sig sauer P238 I believe is the model in a .380, a much better pistol.

Yea I fired it before and def agree very long trigger pull.. My Friend has one... I was going to see if I can upgrade the trigger on it, but then on the other point for a carry you want a long trigger pull. I just don't like the long reset.

We're down in AZ for 5 weeks and I don't have a gun down here. I got tired of checking a bag every time we fly back and forth and paying the $50 bag fee so I bought another Hellcat and OWB holster.

Going back to the day when I was a cop, I wore a Bianchi break front holster and loved it. Draw from a holster like that is one forward movement, not the up then forward move.

I'm going to modify the Zydex holster to a breakfront and see if that works. If not, I'm only out about $30.

I also found an indoor shooting range so I can make sure the new gun works as well as the old one.

A M-N is also one of my favorites. But you can't beat an O3A3 or a 1917 or a Garand.

I live in NY. Lots of bad press here. Nevertheless I can shoot any kind of rifle or pistol anywhere any time with no issues (except a machine gun of course).

With the availability of an indoor range, 24/7 and only $40 a year I shoot every single week.

Grands are nice rifles as long as you get you thumb out fast enough. LOL
At our range we do shoot anything we want even full auto if you can afford the licence. I have gone the other way around with this new crank grip shooting out of 100 rd drums.

Looks like a window motor a small battery would ad to the fun.

I resisted buying an "assault rifle" for many years just because of the cost of ammo. (then I found out I needed one.....LOL)

With current cost even higher I think I'll skip a machine gun.

Another reason to keep a Mosin on hand. One shot at a time and boolits are free if you cast your own.

Automatic pistols tend to jam in Susan's weak grip. I loaned her my full size 9mm as the consensus was that the inertia of the heavier frame would be the fulcrum the moving parts worked against in an orderly fashion. It jammed and I am rightly accused of loaning her a dirty gun. Today I will suggest she try the thumbs crossed grip I saw on You Tube as being taught by the Israeli Special Forces to their civilians. Meanwhile I am working on getting the boat back in the water.

I think I will try a H&K P-30L 9mm at the rental desk. Apparently it is available in "bad trigger" and "worse trigger." The "worse trigger" is for law enforcement to make a hammer fired pistol feel like a Glock with a round chambered (duh). The standard trigger felt fine when I dry fired it and my accuracy might improve with the front sight being further out there on the long slide. H&K is a good brand. I gather that thumbing the hammer back on a chambered round could be confusing so they have the LE version.

Sig has some nice 9mil and 380 guns . Brother in law has them and the are so easy to grip and shoot. I'm fine with sig 365 9 mil nice small powerful

Susan outshot me yesterday with her 9mil 365 Macro and had no malfunctions. She chose the Macro for its longer butt and better grip. She shot 147 grain a friend had recommended and sold me her remaining boxes of 115 Browning training rounds. It seems to be psychological. She held on tight and concentrated. I'm fine playing catch-up and not faking it.

Your wife sold you her ammo? Marriage goals....

I know a couple people that still after 30 plus years of marriage, have completely separate banking, credit cards, etc. Seems a bit silly to me, and makes life a lot more complicated. And for those that will say that they can control their wives spending or that it allows their wife to not know what they spend money on, well.... I guess marriage isn't a sharing and trusting thing. To each his own.

That said, every once in a while I ask my wife if she wants to earn a hundred bucks. She never takes me up on it - LOL.
