Hi Everyone!
We are new owners of a 450EB 2000 Sea Ray and are very excited. We want to do some upgrading. I tried ordering some bedding for the 3 State rooms and found out that they don't have anything for 2000. Can anyone help me locate where I can get them. We are located in the Ft. Pierce, Florida area.
I would appreciate it very much.:smt038

Congratulations on the new boat and welcome to CSR.

These folks were recommended to me awhile back for Custom Matress Toppers. http://www.tuftedtopper.com/products.htm I didn't buy from them but will pass this information along to you if you are interested.

Some of our other members may be help you out with other bedding items.

Welcome to the board, you will want to put your boat information (year, model, motor, etc) in your signature. Again welcome to CSR!!!

Welcome!

We also recently purchased a 2000 Sea Ray 450EB. Sounds like we are in very similar situations!

Since taking possession at the end of September, we have re-rigged with new canvas, new navigation electronics, a host of repairs & replacements, and complete detailing. For us, the season is almost over (~ 1 December 2007) so we will not get to enjoy the boat too much more until the beginning of next season (~ 1 April 2008).

We began to investigate bedding a few weeks ago while we were at the U.S. Power Boat Show (Annapolis, MD). We found a number of companies that will make custom sheets, comforters, mattresses, etc., but we have not yet identified the OEM supplier or if they still have bedding available. We know that we want to add at least a mattress topper if not a replacement mattress.

Our "off season" upgrades may also include adding a bow thruster, replacing the entertainment systems (video/audio), and adding a dinghy or PWC.

We are new to EB ownership, but we have learned a lot since we determined that was the optimal model for our family/needs. Let us know if we can help in any way.

We just bought regular bed linens, and ditched the custom fit stuff. We replaced the linens in all 3 staterooms. With getting regular stuff, we had much m ore flexibility in colors and patterns.

I replaced the tv in the salon with a 26" LCD HDTV. I put it on an articulating arm, so it pushes into the cabinet when underway, and comes out and rotates to be seen from anywhere. You can even turn it to watch it from the cockpit.

The boat's in the shop right now, but I am supposed to get it back next week. When I get it, I'll post a few pics of that install, if you're interested.

Congrats on the purchase.

We purchased two mattresses from Zeno in Ft. Lauderdale. One was purchased to fit a 34DA. The latest to fit our 420DA. This time we also purchased matching sheets. The quality was great. The fit was perfect. The mattresses are custom - you can get anything you want, foam, springs, etc.

Congratulations Lilly D on your recent purchase. We, like Scott and Yellow Jacket, believe you have acquired a great vessel.

We are currently doing the Great Circle Loop on our 2000 450EB and have put a little over 4,500 miles under her hull this year. The Cummins 450s have performed flawlessly and very economically (IMHO).

We updated the electronics last year but stayed 2 genertions behind the new stuff because I didn't want to have to work out bugs on the way (for example some folks on the trip with the new Raymarine gear are complaining about AIS integration issues).

We can't help with the bedding question because we used standard bedding. We are on our 197th night on Xplorer so using standard bedding is way more economical not to mention easier to clean at the laundramats!!

You can check out some of the additional equipment we are using on our web site at www.xplorer.talkspot.com Let me know if you have any questions on engine performance or boat performance. I'm keeping pretty good records and we are usually operating under full loads. We've hauled the boat twice and I'm embarrased to say both times we were over 43,000lbs.

Again, Congrats. Enjoy her because she is a great versatile design.

Congrats on the boat and welcome!
we had investigated some bedding ideas to upgrade our old swirly teal miami vice bedding. went to a local upholstery store and was quoted $2500 for a bedspread and two kingsize pillow shams. after i picked up my jaw from the floor, i went shopping for fabric, as our next plan was to commission my mom (a pretty accomplished seamstress) to custom fabricate our bedding. after combing the local fabric stores and not finding anything that caught our eye, my mom suggested we buy a comforter set from somewhere and she can customize it. the search continued until one day in costco, we stumbled upon a perfect king size set. after 2 or 3 fittings, my mom completed the task.

you'll note that the bed is a very odd shape, and very large. because of the shape, no "stock" bedding would work. the moral here is, IF YOU CAN, find something you like in a store and use that rather than get stuff custom made. you will pay DEARLY for custom!

ps: i made the the matching throw pillow from remnants of the fabric. also note the OLD fabric at the bottom of the pic. i hadnt reupholstered the board (using the included bedskirt) at the time of this pic.

sorry frank - she's unavailable being that she has been re-commissioned to fabricate new curtains for the salon! that'll be the LAST of the miami vice colors to bite the dust.
