Erie looks ugly. What a difference a couple hundred miles makes. A few shots from the morning outing. Lots of commercial traffic today and another midge fly hatch...yuk!

Sunrise this morning.

Freighter "Saginaw"

The Saginaw and the Presque Isle.

Approaching the Mackinac Bridge.

Tug and barge Victory passes the Mesabi Miner.

Joseph Block.

Some of the worse conditions we have seen in that area in all of the years we have been going there. As we drove around the area, dodging fallen trees, flooded and closed roads, saw many boats and docks taking a beating. Saw a couple of fellow CSR members' boats and they looked as if they were doing quite well.

It is quite amazing what 40 mph ENE winds will do to the west end of Lake Erie.

Hope everyone comes through this latest bout with Mother Nature in one piece.

My weekend boating. Sitting with my coffee looking out at the lake and 57degrees and rain. Meanwhile far northern Ontario is 85 degrees and sunny today. Go figure. I think I will go down later and do another round of cleaning at the boat. I took this week off and it looks like its not warming up much at all.

It was a crazy weekend on Lake Erie for sure...

Flooded piers.

Broken docks

Docks under water...

NEVER seen the boats sit higher then the cars. Spend my day going around checking on people's boats. This weather has to straighten out.

Wow. Those are wild pics!! Mother Nature is all in a snit these days on Lake Erie. And...I see the forecast is calling for another week of rain? That is Redick.

Wait a sec...here on lake erie, I see some sort of weird flaming heat ball in the sky. Also, the sky has turned from lint-trap grey to pure blue. Not sure how to proceed with this anomaly.

Great pics everyone, almost makes me homesick. I've lived in Buffalo, Rochester and West of Cleveland, OH just off the shores of Erie and never owned a boat. Now in my first season in Middle Tennessee, with much smaller lakes and reservoirs and no worry about the weather.

Nordhaven 46. This boat was ordered and picked up in CA. From there it went to Alaska, back down to Panama and through the canal, they cruised the Carribean Sea and Gulf then brought the boat home to Lake Superior, it was a 3yr maiden voyage....what a way to start retirement!!!
