I added a couple of blue LED lights to the cockpit lounge on the 220DA. I was tired of tripping over things with no light, and the white light was too bright. I picked up the last three Atwood marine blue LED lights at Academy on clearance for $6. I think it turned out ok, just installed two to start, the other light will go under the dash. I plan to install a switch at the transom door to operate them instead of on the dash like I have them wired at the moment. I installed them high inside the side boxes so they would only light the floor.

Looks awesome !!!
I just bought some LED strips from autozone that were 12 volts and I wired them to each side using the perko lights.

I am considering replacing the white cockpit lights in my boat with blue, mainly to attempt to have some light without turning the cockpit into a giant bug-catcher. Can anyone comment on if the blue LEDs attract bugs (mosquitoes in particular) more or less?

If I remember right someone posted that the LEDs in white attracted less bugs then incandescent bulbs. I opted for blue in the spoiler lights and white in the cockpit. But in our boat I only have two cockpit lights so it's not too bright you may have more.

I put white LED's in my arch and I have to say that the bugs seem to LOVE the bright white LEDs far more than the incandescent. I have changed them out to red to see if that is better. Probably harder to see, but I'll give it a try. I have some red flex strip that I may run under the aft bench as indirect lighting to match. Now the only incandescent bulbs left on the boat are the navigation lights and the rear cockpit lights. They are attwood fixtures that use short 1157's and I have not found a good LED bulb to fit. I may just replace the fixtures and be done with it.

Looks great! I am planning on adding some LEDs to our boat this season. I would like to start with the factory cockpit lights. Can you find direct replacements for the cockpit light bulbs? If so...where is everyone getting them?

I am looking, but I am unsure the bulb number to match it to an LED bulb. Atwood seems to have their own part number and I cant find the cross match to it.

I get them at a local RV supply house where we get a discount on parts.
Buying them online just wasn't working out. Unreliable, flaky places were all we could find.

LED is the way to roll.
I start with the most used lights in the RV or on the boat, then occasionally buy another and another and change things over slowly.
They ain't cheap, but the barely draw on the batteries, and seem to really last and last.

Looks great and the best $18.00 investment you'll ever make in your boat.

I have LEDs in my cockpit lights. They are a tight fit but will fit snug. Make sure you check to see if your bulbs are single or double contacts at the base. Glad I did as I was going to order the wrong ones at first

If you want a pic pm me I'll get you the exact info. They are 4 led fixtures 1157 dual contact bulbs. I believe that I got them from ledwholesalers.com.

I bought mine from West Marine. I believe they are called "LED Festoon Bulbs". Just take one of your existing bulbs with you to match it up, Good Luck.
