Late 90's 270 Sundancer Thread

Thanks, I have 3 batteries as well. Now I know the 110v AC bulb is out.

That 110 bulb is some obscure european base. Sorry, can't remember the size. E14? There are adaptors to fit U.S. bases.

Its a European base and you can purchase an adapter on Ebay to convert to a slightly smaller base to use standard US available bulbs. I believe an E14 to E12 adapter.

I have a 1998 270 Both my batteries were new last yr now they will not stay charged. A couple guys at the dock said if the charger reg is bad it will cook the batteries and they will be shot. How do i test this? I am getting new ones today but dont want to cause same issues. Also is there an on off swich for the charger.

The "off switch" is the breaker in the breaker panel. If a charger "cooks" the batteries they often have the fluid burned out of them, did you check them for that? Have you read you chargers manual? They can usually be found online.

10-4 on the switch/breaker. Have not checked if they boiled but i will (i think they are sealed though...). i don't have the manual but ill look online for one.

Any suggestions on replacing the radio? We enjoyed the bluetooth capability and pandora, i-phone capability of our previous boat. I believe it was a Clarion, same as the factory system is in our 270.
We don't need a CD player. Anyone have a TV in the cabin? If so where is it located?

I had my tv mounted in front of the mirror in the v birth. As for the radio I installed a fusion 700with a linksys router so I can control it from my ipad or iphone (no need for helm remote) and added a bluetooth wireless connection. I have threads on both if you want to take the time to look through my recent started threAds. Good luck and the fusion stereo puts out great power and sound

I have seen this asked a couple times in the thread but could not find the answer. How do you remove the back rest on the port lounger seat. The back rest next to cabin door. I have looked inside the cabin and can't find screws. My canvas is in great shape but I have a seam that is coming out and I want to take the back rest to get it fixed. Some great info in this thread. I am excited to join the Sea Ray family after years of owning various Correct Craft ski boats.

It's through bolted. A bunch of bolts on my 2000. I sliced the vinyl, cut the heads off and used automotive push fasteners to go back together.

Thanks for reply. The thought of that scares me to death. I can't feel the bolts so must be some thing that vinyl is attached to? Was there also some wood on cabin wall? As much as it worries me, the growing gap in the seam is driving me crazy also.
Related to the other questions in thread, I just replaced my stereo with the new Clarion M303. It was pretty much plug and play and now I have Bluetooth access to play Pandoria or music from my iPhone. It sales on Amazon for under $200.

It's through bolted to the fiberglass. I just couldn't figure out how to remove that panel (interior) behind the cushion and I was afraid I was going to do more damage than good. But of your not going to get the whole panel made like I did, that's where you are going to have to start. There were something like 12 bolts holding mine with t nuts in the cushion and nuts behind the interior panel.

What in the vaccuflush is not working? Does it fill w/ water and just not flush or ??? Obviously you have water in the holding tank on the port side, right? Does the galley faucet work?

In regards to bulbs. I switched to LED bulbs which I highly recommend since they last longer, draw much less power and.......they last longer. I found that the brutal forces a boat endures ends the life of the fragile bulb filaments on the normal bulbs. For the front navigation lights, you can consider these:http://www.ebay.com/itm/2x-HID-Whit...model:X|Year:2006&hash=item27d4e3ed3d&vxp=mtr

For future reference, do a search on eBay for these: 2x HID White 31mm 1.25" 6 SMD Interior Festoon Dome Map LED Light Bulb 3021 3022
