Lake Powell 2012 Rendevous

Hey BlewByYou,
I have the 7.3 turbo with Banks exhaust and it runs very strong.

I have been on dirt roads that are better than the stretch across the Indian Reservation:smt021 and you're right about travelling at night.
For me, it will depend if my wife can get the time off.
That would be a great time to be at Powell

I would also like to go up to the NW for a couple of weeks in the year or 2

MikeF,

You should be fine. Don't forget your overwide permit if you want to be legal.

I have been making that tow for 20 years. The worst climb IMO is out of the Verde Valley in both directions. And yes the road across the Reservation is a real POS. Watch for folks making dangerous passes on the two lane sections.

The 270 makes a real nice Powell boat.

any one still trying to get together, a get together????????

had a bit of excitement yesterday afternoon with some high winds blowing in from hall and ran the full fetch from there to the marina here. beached house boat and power boat

boats in the south side rental slips looked like bronks trying to climb out of the bucking chutes at a rodeo :smt100

the girls in slips at bull frog marina. side by each. not sure if this will happen again

?

I question that in AZ, I know legal is 8'6", but with my side rails on I'm riding 9'5" I see people quite often towing the old 270's and the new 280's without wideload permits as well.

BBY, How do you know the folks you are seeing don't have permits?

As I recall, in AZ if you are under 10 wide you can run legally with just a permit. If over ten you need flags and signs, too, and there are some other restrictions. I know a lot of folks past 10 that run with flags and signs, but not permits.

Ah, I did not watch my wording on that, sorry that was an assumption...I never see oversized load signs or flags on them, I do not actually know if they have permits. My Bad.
